I have been scotch of some form for about 50 years. In the 1980's and 90's I travelled to Scotland for business a couple times a year. It was then that I began to more appreciate all of the whiskers residing at each pub I entered there, and became more familiar with single malt. It thought that I was fairly knowledgable about scotch whiskey until I began watching your You Tube videos. You have opened another aspect of taste and nosing to me and I am now forever grateful to you for sharing! I am also now reading your book and enjoying it immensely! Keep up the good information and again I say "Thank you"!

I first found this channel years ago when i was trying to get into whiskey. Because of you i tried my first scotch, Glenfidich 12 as well as Glenlevit 12 and also Mcallen 12. Just wanted to say thank you for being a person of substance and value and for holding on to your integrity. Also thank you for guiding me through this confusing world that is whiskey. For a newcomer it can be very overwhelming but you've managed to guide me though it and I've emerged with a little knowledge about the world of whiskey and am very great full for it. Cant wait to see what comes in 2019.

Hello Ralfy, I was put onto you're KZbin from a friend here in Dundee when i got home i started to look at you're reviews and subscribed and i have visited your pages on a daily basis, its a brilliant vlog of whiskys you are very natural and funny. I have viewed loads of the reviews and i have a few bottles of whisky in my collection and thanks to you I have bought a few extra bottles from your reviews I'm a fan of Speyside malts. but I am not going to leave them for others to drink when I die, I'm only 51 so hopefully I will have time to get them drunk. I believe in opening them and enjoying drinking them sensibly that is!! as I paid for them? Keep up you great work. Cheers.

Thank you for the encouragement to explore a unique blend of single malts that I put together.. Simply I combined in a glass, a dram of Lagavulan 16 and about the same, maybe a little less, Bunnahabain 12, the one with black and red with gold trim on the box.. Ohhhhh myyyy, These are two of my favorites, and together they make the best glass of whisky I have ever had... Simply the best. OOOOOHHHHHHH MMMMMMYYYYYYY... Great choice on the whisky of the year as well. My girlfriend's Papa let us try this a couple of month ago and I remember thinking of how good it was. Ended up buying a bottle the next again day.

My own whisky of the decade must be Caol Ila 12yo. A more consistent great value for money is hard to find. Caol Ila scores around 90/100 all the time and still retains a relatively low price. At half the price of the overbranded Ardbeg 10yo it has become my favourite islay malt. The only super consistent malt that comes close as in good pricing and consistency is the Glenfiddich 12yo. If those 2 malts had upped to Ralfy specs they would be even better, although consistency in colour and taste makes the distillers modify the colour and blend it carefully it's hard to change them. And lastly, I LOVE Macallan! Best cask management in the industry!!

Excellent social and spiritual commentary. Self awareness and being true to yourself brings the ultimate gift of integrity. Stopped whiskey for five years and rediscovered 10 year old Ardbeg being sold at whole foods here in the states. Surprised by this and got some...well you know the rest ...I’m back. Got some 10 year old laphriag. Not nearly as good as the Ardbeg.

Arran for sure! For me The Cotswolds is producing an impressive whisky, One to watch as batch 4 is drinking like a smooth 10-12 year old.

@@BravingTheOutDoors Maybe what I meant to say is-Batch 3 was an excellent dram but had a hot but not horrible cinnamon clove oil finish to it. Batch 4 seems to have softened this character for the better. The resulting dram is (smoother) and very impressive. Give it a go!
