So, Master Ralfy, here we are in 2022, eleven years after this review. Have you recently reviewed (or will you) any more acquirable versions of Glenglassaugh? Say, a 10 - 15 year old? I'm interested in how their malts are doing these days.

@idahoduckhunter: Chemist here, you're essentially right. Important thing is: 2% angel share a year doesn't mean the alcohol content is going to drop 2%, there's always going to be water in the vapour. For more information you can look up Azeotrope on Wikipedia.

Really great whisky review! I have a question about a greengage. In russia we called it a Hungarian plum. National drink of Hungary is a plum vodka. Whisky had the taste of it?

Hand crafted whiskies, made by fine folks means they are putting their intention, caring, and love into the final product and it certainly shows.

From what I understand, alcohol evaporates differently depending on the humidity and temperature of the area the casks are stored in. Humid --> Pulls more alcohol (lowers proof). Dry --> Pulls out more water (maintains more of the abv). Higher temperature ages faster, and lowers angels share but introduces different flavors then cool temperature aging.

Hello Ralfy, here's one thing I don't quite udnerstand. How can glenglassaugh bottle their first whisky in 20 years ? It is that weird Signatory bottling, if Signatory buys it , and bottles it, it would just make no sence. If it was Glenglassaugh's, why isn't it in a Glenglassaugh's bottle? Does this Signatory bottlers bought this glenglassaugh whisky and stored it theirselves ? Becuase that too, makes not a lot of sence. Greetings from me, have a very fine day!

Yesterday at K&L Wine Merchants, I saw Glenglassaugh Revival Single Malt Whisky 750ml, $60US. Pertinent description: "arduous revival of the long-dormant Glenglassaugh distillery is finally beginning to pay dividends. ... The result is a youthful, but precocious whisky that will definitely please those diehards looking for a new distillery to fall in love with. It's not quite there yet, but I would still happily drink it." You may wish to check it out.
