Ahhh, Benromach 10, one of my favourite whiskies when I first started getting into drinking whisky! A great review Luke!

Yeah this one seems like a great introduction to all the whisky styles - a little peaty, a little speysidey, and a little sherried. Good fun!

This expression from Benromach is absolutely delicious and surprisingly complex (considering price and age ofc). The wonders of independent distilleries imo :)

Just thought you might want to know about the maturation....as you said it's mostly Bourbon cask matured, with some sherry cask maturation and then a finish in Oloroso European Oak casks. :)

This reminds me alot of the Highland Park 12 yr.

Hey Luke, I know im responding to this video years later and you arent on youtube anymore, and you never respond.. hopefully you're alright. Anyways, I just wanted to mention, there is a slight.. or maybe more than slight disservice you're doing for the Benromach 10. Yes, I agree, it is similar to bowmore .. bowmore 12 in particular based on character .. but that said, the Benromach is just far better in quality. It's rounder, fuller, extremely long finish, subtle sweetness but present. Long finish .. something very magical about this whisky which really cant be compared to a bowmore 12 .. perhaps the 18 but not the 12. The profile on the 10 is indeed lighter, with bowomore 12 and Benromach 10 being the 2 whiskies that have the most mild beginning to the finish once you swallow, and no burn whatsoever.. the Benromach 10 is still way ahead in terms of quality, fullness in experience and flavour if not in body.. and it's just wonderful.. hopefully 5 years later now you can agree with that if you're still enjoying fine scotch. Cheers
