That was a fine review. Now you picked the Glenlivet 15 as your BEST, i really have to go back to it. if i'll come around i'll give you my tasting notes from the Glenlivet 15 and say waht i think of it.Thanks man, keep it up!

Thanks for the review. Glenlivet 18 by far the most disappointing single malt I've ever tasted. So many non vintage out there a lot more complex and intriguing. This one is harsh, one dimensional, sticky sweet with a bitter alcohol aftertaste for an 18, which you also point out here. Have not tried the Glenfiddich. Will soon.

Great review! Great video! The Livet 15 is sublime. My 21 review sucks after watching this. In my opinion the Livet will always edge out the Fiddich.

What 18 year-not exclusively of the two here-would you recommend for someone who is wild about Sherry aged scotch? I often get the Glenmorangie 10 with the 50mL Lasanta & Quinta Ruban; I can drink the Lasanta, I can can palate it, but I can't truly enjoy it.

thank you for review, I'm new to scotches, more wine drinker, tried both these bottles and absolutely the same opinion, btw I wouldn't buy any of these to my collection because they are boring to me- I'm just the person who is not going to pretend and try to find interesting notes if there aren't any despite the price and labels

The problem is, in Canada, all good Scotch is that expensive due to taxes so there's no shopping around for a bargain or getting a better bottle. Better bottles are even more expensive and scales as such. Macallan 18...300$. Basically, double the price and that's what you'll pay up here. And we can't buy booze from abroad. Sucks to be a drinker here.

$40 and ... something like $75, if I remember correctly. The Glenlivet's I actually got in a three-pack (12,15,18), so it was all bundled together. At $40 the Glenlivet 15 is a great buy. At $55 or so, maybe. Any higher and I'd start to consider other malts!

Comparing these would always bring out Glenfiddich, opposed to the bland simple, one dimension Glenlivet, which seems spicier, sweet, but nevertheless without the nutty honeyed complexity of the former I would always choose it

Big fan of both the Glenfiddich 15 & 18. Tried the Glenlivet 18 at a bar last year, and found it nice, but really nothing stood out from what I can recall. Glenlivet 12 yr is piss IMO, but the one you didn't review - the Glenlivet Nadurra - is really good.

Interesting idea! I bet the Macallan Fine Oak would compare most appropriately to Glenfiddich. I don't have _any_ Macallan at the moment, but I'll see what I can do :)

Alternatively to the 18 y.o. get a bottle of Glenlivet from an independant bottler like Signatory Vintage, if you can or try the Nadurra cask strength/48%, if it needn't be sherry.

Why do spending time physically tasting on camera? Wouldn't it more sense to take your time tasting off-camera and then sharing your notes?
