To the splinter comments- tbh I think those mostly comes from dead cut wood, I mean think about it, when trees are alive their much more “ soft” mostly because there’s still water and other liquids flowing through it, we’ve all tried to break at least one living twig off of a tree before right? That shit is DIFFICULT because it’s more bendy, but when it’s dry! It’s becomes much more brittle and prone to splintering off because of the moisture being sucked out of it. live trees are too .. wet,. To give splinters so easily( they might just rub his hands raw like sandpaper ) dry wood will give the most splinters. Edit: this is just me speculating, this is not fact. I’m just stuck thinking on it so I wanted to comment lol
