Thank you.. I don't have my dog yet. (Liver & White) English Springer, only 5 weeks old. 9th October I get my next new best friend. I've purchased two ACME whistles.. Although the sheep dog whistle, I'm finding it hard to master in preparation.. Would you be so kind as to explain the different ACME numbers that go with each whistle? I've memorized several pips or toots. I have settled on the straight whistle, 375. Works and I'm confident I won't be sending mixed signals.. But Out've curiosity, what do the different numbers mean please?

Hi Tony, many thanks for your comment. I would only use the 210.5 they have a sharper tone and are more suited to Spaniels. The 211.5 has a slightly lower tone and it's believed to be more suited to the larger breeds. In my experience the 210.5 is the best alround and if you stick with it, it will suit all breeds. Don't forget to only use your whistle lightly with you young pup.......you don't want to scare the poor thing.
