I'll repeat what I wrote on his other video. This is one of those greatly underrated, underappreciated songs of music history. British rock is often highly appreciated in the U.S. Unfortunately for some odd reason this bittersweet, nostalgic song enjoyed only a short window of radio playing time in the U.S. It did appear in the American movie, "Sixteen Candles", but it didn't help it garner popularity. Nick Heyward's 1983 song, "Whistle Down the Wind" touched my heart and soul for its introspective, contemplative, mournful melody and words. It was the year after my college graduation and this song made me think and feel sad that my fun college years were over for good and there was no turning back the clock. I still play his CD for that song, the only one I liked on it, for the same sentimental, nostalgic reasons.

The adjustments he makes without disturbing the flow is as enchanting as the song itself. Bravo!

Nick sounds fantastic & we should all be in such good shape as we inch in on age 60, (here). He's now 62 and could shame men half his age. Such great, melodic tunes, lush production - music that doesn't fit into today's mostly horrid radio formats. This isn't nostalgia, it's the real thing- great music & musicians.

Wonderful intro reminiscent of the 12" instrumental version of this song. Just terrific.

Thank you for posting this video. I heard this again recently for the first time in ages on an 80's radio station. Songs as good as this like this don't get the airplay they deserve. I saw Nick last year at an event and he was incredible.

With me being a few years older and more of a 1970s teen, I know that the 1980s had quite a few Musical gems. Nick Heyward was and is one of them. Haven't heard 90 % of His music until a few years ago.it's like I've found fine wine that's been hidden for so many years. When I didn't think that there was anymore pleasant and excellent music to ever hear again, there it is! Made this old fellow feel young again. God bless you Nick!
