daniel elblink Demi did actually do a whistle it was just very hard to hear because she pulled her mic away due to the fact that she is not confident with her whistles whatsoever. She was preforming her song wildfire and in the studio version you can hear the whistle loud and clear she even posted a video of her trying the note in the studio I think. In fact I'm pretty sure that since the songs release she has only tried the note live two times both times succeeding. Each time she just made it hard to hear because of her tendency to pull the mic away. I do hope that she does practice it and strengthen her whistle register (sorry if I didn't use correct terms)

Won G Jennifer vocal range is from B2-A6 anything over D6 usually comes off as whistle if it isn't connected... Their are singers who can stretch their HEADVOICE above D6 which mean even after D6 the tone is still full, connected and not airy like a whistle and these singers are like so hyang, Lisa Fischer, etc. Clearly here that note Jennifer hit was over a D6 and it wasn't as full or as connected to be considered a HV meaning it was a whistle note.

Agreed with all here. The song is titled "Wildfire" and usually it is a note that she dodges in her performances. This clip differs from her others because there is a lot of speculation that she was testing her whistle first to decide whether or not to being the microphone closer. She had tweeted a while ago that she was practicing some whistle notes. If you listen to the album version of "Wildfire", the whistle notes are definitely in there and they sound pretty nice. I think Demi should continue to work on developing her whistle register as she generally does pretty well with controlling her notes. That's all I have to say for now. Cheers.

Minnie and Mariah are easily the best. They have the most ease and the most dynamic control, not to mention the texture and color of their whistles are perfectly light and weightless, they truly could be mistaken for birds. Debelah Morgan is also a beast, probably the best technically speaking, though she's not my cup of tea in subjective terms. I'm not familiar with Betty Wright, Chante Moore, and Morissette Amon to accurately tell how good their whistle register is. Betty Wright's is super piercing, that's for sure. The greatest feats of the rest of the people in this video would be child's play to all the singers I listed, though.
