@@PaulThePunter Which single black jump trail would you say is easiest; which one is the next hardest after c-more?
@ryancorra3995

Ricky Meng a line is the easiest. Then freight train then side track
@v2nohanation365
@v2nohanation365 4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Corra really. Excuse me if I’m wrong because I don’t really know because I’m basing this off whistlers website and the fact that the only black diamond jump trail I’ve done is A line. but from easiest to hardest doesn’t it go sidetrack, rippin rutabaga, freight train then A line ?
@ryancorra3995
@ryancorra3995 4 жыл бұрын
V2Noha Nation that’s what it says but based off my opinion a line is the easiest becasue freight train get very wind affected and it’s higher up in the mountain and can become very sketchy and hard with wind. Side track is harder becasue it has some technical jank and rocks that are harder than anything on a line and rippin rutabaga is easy but very hard to clear the jumps making it hard at the same time

Hey Paul, when the bike park opens up again, i'm thinking of going. I really like jumps but the biggest one I've hit is only 20 feet. I have a bad experience with tabletops, as they trick my body into thinking that it is OK to case, and therefore I always case (It might also be that the BMX jumps are the only jumps in our area and the landings are really short so you have to be spot on!). I have a 120 mm trail bike (dualie) and I was wondering if I could take it down a-line and clear all the jumps. What would be the average length of a tabletop there? Also, this may be a long-shot, but how hard is it to do Dwayne Johnson? I am so much better with doubles, so I was wondering if that was possible as well... I would really appreciate it if you could reply, this video was so helpful!

I know this video is a couple years old, but hoping for a reply. I’m just curious as to why people say you can’t ride a hardtail at Whistler? I’m an average rider who rides a hardtail. I’ve upgraded my bike to make it better on the trails where I live. I live in the Seattle area and have many bike parks to hit up that are close to me. Duthie hill, Swan Creek, 360 trails, and Black diamond open space. Of course we don’t have the same amount of trails we do have some tough trails with some big stuff. While I’m not a huge jumper, I do hit drops and wood features at my local parks. I will be headed up to whistler for my first time this coming summer 2022. I’ve been contemplating upgrading to a full suspension, but I love my hardtail. Any on-site you can give would be great. I enjoy your videos by the way!

Is it that we won't have a good time on a hard tail or that you wouldn't have a good time on a hardtail because you're not used to riding one? From what I can see, these blue lines look just fine for my hardtail. Am I missing something? Is the ground super jagged with rocks and roots everywhere? Don't need a full suspension to jump. If that were the case, wouldn't be such a thing as bmx or dirt jump bikes.

Hey paul, do u reckon my down country scott spark (130mm front, 120mm back) good enough for whistler? Edit: if you think I copied your build, don't worry. I have a 2018 scott spark 740. Aluminium frame and rockshox suspension configuration. It's very similar, but not as cool as yours

Yeah you could do it for sure, but the bike would get completely rattled around and it would be very rough! If you’ve never been before I’d recommend renting a dh bike!

ok but why don’t people use the bar? I snowboard at whistler and it’s almost like an unspoken law that you always put the bar down

1:19 don't tighten your brake levers that much it can damage your levers or frame in a crash in an impact or if the bars spin

Has that ever happnened to anyone? I feel like the brake turning into a higher or lower position on impact is a much more realistic problem...

What's the ranking in Canada? In the UK green is basically going for a stroll, blue is beginner, red is advanced, black is expert? But you guys don't have red but do have double black diamond?
@PaulThePunter
@PaulThePunter 5 жыл бұрын
It goes green - blue - black - double black - pro line. No red over here, but black is probably a red...maybe somewhere in between .

This video is great, but I have to disagree with the fact that you should have 170 mil of travel to ride some blue trails. I ride Highland mountain bike park on a mid travel trail bike (140 mil) It does just fine. I think that 170 is a bit overkill.
