There is no way I would own high end vehicles without a service contract. Many think these expensive cars are more reliable that normal cars..... not so, and they are far, far more expensive to repair. A friend of mine who owns Jags, advised me to he always buys service contracts every time he buys a used Jag. I took his advice when I purchased my toy ... a lovely midnight blue, low mileage SLK. While certainly not, a Garage Queen, (unlike the two MGB’s or the Ford Escape I owned ... I escaped from the Escape as soon as I could) the SLK has been in the shop for reasons that are non-scheduled items more often in two years than of my Frau’s recently replaced 8 year old Honda, or my one year old Escape replacement a CR-V. In fact, I have owned three Hondas over the last 9 years and none of them required any service other than routine service or items that were paid for under warranty. When the SLK’s service contracts expire I will, depending upon price, renew them or replace the SLK with a late model SL. Note, I am not here to knock expensive cars or extoll Hondas (the Hondas, in my experience, were and have been extraordinarily reliable .... but Gawd are they boring as all he## to drive) , I am just relating my experiences. BTW you would think the Deutchlanders would figure out something as simple as a PVC valve and a vacuum system. Very un-German of them.

Didn’t Audi and Bentley extend the PCV warranty to 10/120? Edit: Also, are you doing the turbo oil screen check valves and screens while you’re in there? They usually are toast by the mileage that that car has, and if they fail or clog, that thing is going to eat the turbos. The parts are very inexpensive, and it’s well worth it to do it while the PCV is out.

Gotta pay to play. Problem is, people see the sticker price on these cars when they were new at $250k then see them used at $50k 5 years later, they're thinking they're getting a deal. It's still a Bentley, whether it's 2014 or 2020. Average people can afford to BUY them used, but not necessarily keep them fixed and maintained. The name on the badge hasn't changed. Same for Mercedes. These cars all have horrible used car values which makes them so desirable for people to buy them used. Until they have to do service on them.

At 8:33, if the customer finds too expensive, you can tell them to take it home and fix it yourself. 😂or take it to the dealer. Always keep a good relationship with your mechanic. Good mechanics love to help people. But remember, they are not charity, they need to pay for the rent, lifts, tools and the list goes on.

worst vacuum leak I ever heard was my first car, a.2000 BMW 528i (E39) with the m52TU engine. pcv, disa, crack intake boots, etc. I had to wrench on that POS almost everyday to get to school and work, but it taught me how to fix cars. I own a toyota and lexus :)

Nice car. Although personally I'd prefer it if VW and BMW would give Bentley and Rolls Royce more independence to make their own engines... Or use ones from someone like Cosworth, who knows how to build a REALLY proper engine!

I just recently got a 530xi wagon from an auction with the bmw n52 engine, the car wouldn't run smoothly and misfired badly, every single vacuum line was broken, the PCV valve was clogged and the engine was burning oil. I removed the entire intake and rebuilt the unit, replaced the DISA valves and all the PVC lines, heater and valve, runs smooth as butter now. vacuum lines are no joke in these german motors and are such a common issue that i've had at some point on every german engine i've owned/worked on.

A beautiful car indeed. I like soft close doors too because I don't like slamming car doors. Sometimes, on (most) cars without this feature, I end up closing and opening the door multiple times to get the force just right (not too hard, but not too soft either), which is annoying. But I know what the Wizard means when an unsuspecting passenger slams a soft close door shut. The alternative is to forewarn your companion not to use force, but then you can come across as being a bit of a tosser. Actually, I believe soft close doors are primarily intended for chauffeur-driven cars, so that the driver doesn't have to slam the door on their passenger after holding it open for them (so no warning necessary).

Yeah, but no, it's the exterior that they certainly do not nail. The Wizards would see the wh0re-house light in the hood ornament and they'd say "Oh, how Kardashian." They'd tap the grille and say "Oh, this is just plastic now." Both are connoisseurs, and aware of how far from grace Bentley is falling. They went from catering to the landed gentry to the social influencers.
