Hi. We were there on the Saturday and Sunday. Both days there were not many Steampunkers in towns but up around the Pavilion it was full of them. Seems they stayed up there. On Sunday we walked up the steps to the Abbey and were the only people up there in costume. Most disappointing.

Hi Glenn. Great video. You just keep giving! I was thinking of going South for a holiday but I'm missing my No. 1 go to destination in the UK so much that I'm now travelling to Whitby for the week instead! I'm so happy I could crush a grape! 😂 When I'm not there, my heart aches & I just pine so Whitby, here I come. I've been visiting for over 45 years. I'm well & truly hooked! Blooming love the North! ❤😍❤

I remember that icecream land rover on the beach from my childhood and after speaking to Neil apparently it’s the same Land Rover. Brings back memories but I have to say Whitby looked a little too busy for me on this occasion.

Yes, same one mate. He was trying to sell it last year. Hopefully I talked him out of it. It's such a Whitby icon.

Was it not blue and white then. I seem to remember Trillos were that colour. Long time ago. I also remember the O’Hagans coming from Ireland to sell shell fish and hot dogs.

@@nook788 I think you’re right Trillos were blue n white, they seemed to be the dominant ice cream vendors in Whitby back in the day. Each time I go to Whitby I have every intention of getting a Trillos ice cream but never get around to it. Always get a coffee from Neil’s little hut, maybe that’s what age does to you? Hot drinks or ice cream.

@@thewhitbyphotographer I don’t think so. They used to come over for the summer then go home again. I think their son was called Jimmy. Someone else may know. A friend of mine , one of the Storr family used to work for them.
