So love to listen to stories like this! It is wonderful to get a idea of how much it takes to get alot of systems together with reliability and affordability.... It does make one wonder- if all of the tractor companies were left alone....would they have done better and would the employees pensions been better served....? My Uncle Raymond bought a new 2-135 back in the day.... Wow what a beast! He traded a open station 1855 in on it... he had the only one at the dealership that didn’t blow - we weren’t allowed to work it to hard. “ NO BLACK SMOKE!!!!” In the field! My cousin still has the 135 and feeds cattle with a 1850 and 110’s yet. On dealerships: in Rock Rapids Iowa, we had K & F Implements. They got their start selling Kaisers and Frazier’s!!! But went to Oliver and implements. They had great mechanics that were super stars of the wrenches!

This has got to be one of your best videos. Great story and really makes me wish Oliver White was still being built in Charles City.

It would be super cool to see the 4-325 out in the field doing some tillage.

What a man. Didn't like beating people or companies up. But has so much knowledge. Guys like that are the ones who built American products.

Thank you for doing this. He is a great guy doing what was necessary in the tough agricultural years. Which was right when i wanted to farm. But, i live through the memories of those years of great change in agriculture through these videos.

Watching this video makes me want to go drag the 4-270 out of the barn and get her going. I just don’t know what the hell I would do with it if I did. Maybe if I ever buy a big square baler. Great video. Love listening to these old guys talk.

I know you said South Bend didn't seem to be interested in history....you might try the Shelby County (IL) Farm Bureau, they dedicated a new building to the Oliver Baler (Ann Arbor Machine). The factory there employed 200 people when production got moved to Coldwater.

Got to run a 1355 when I was a teenager. Dualed up with radial 20.8s. Incredible pulling power and not very load.

I have to agree with the comment about the over/under is all you need, this new equipment with all this high tech bs makes no sense to me.
