Here in South Africa this tractor was sold as a Massey Ferguson 9240. Only this single model was sold here and was the largest tractor sold by MF at the time. It was rated at 195kw (?). My dad used to work for MF and he took us to a farm day (in the mid 90's) where MF launched new tractors, which included the 9240. It looked distinctly different from the French built 6100 and 8100 series tractors that was launched on that day.

Every John Deere 4020 fanboy just got triggered. Never drove a 4020. Had a White 2-105. Had a 4840 John Deere, though. Power shifts are great but not when you only have 8 gears. We test drove a 6145. I liked that tractor but the dealer didn’t adjust the steering stop bolts we thought it took a country mile to turn around and the tranny was calibrated properly. Liked the Cummins motor. Had tons of low end grunt. We had it on a 5 bottom 720 plow. Did just fine. Probably should have bought it, but the dealer seemed questionable and in fact they didn’t last as long as our previous white non Agco dealer. Parts now handled by a CaseIH Agco dealer. Their the only reason we never tried to buy one used later. Drank the kool aid and went team green. Till this year we bought an Agco global tractor for feeding cows. Only tractor we could find with no egr or dpf. EPA really making diesels suck.

These machines were sold in Europe under the italian SDF-Branding in orange (SAME), white/silver (Lamborghini) and light green (Hürlimann, GER/AUT/SUI only), mostly identical or just very similar in part of Engine or front Axles and different wheel setups. But the basic Design was the same. SDF stands for SAME-DEUTZ-FAHR and is still one of the big european Manufacturers. Not that I'm much a fan of it....Personally, I like the Field-Boss Design more, because it is quite nice and is having more like character on it.

Sorry Jason, You said Agco built MF at Coldwater Ohio? I want you to show me a MF built from 1994 to 1999 at Coldwater Ohio? I have yet to find a build tag on a MF that says built in Coldwater Ohio. The 6100 and 8100 series MF (built at the same time as the White and Agco tractors built at Coldwater) were built from 1995 to 1998 and some models till 1999 at the MF/ Valmet plant in Beauvais France. With the exception of the 8170 built in 1998 only in Germany by Valmet. They also had Perkins engines in the lower HP models and Valmet in the higher HP models. They also used their Dynashift transmissions. Valmet tractors later became Valra and there engines became Sisu power. You know the rest Agco bought them all and killed off the good ones.
