I’m way late on this, but my AJKOs that I got in 1986 came with the hang tag. The hang tag was taped to my bedroom door all through high school. Also, Peter Moore confirmed that KO stands for Knock Off.

Had a pair. Wore them to school (but not to play in) and I wrote "Air Gutt" in blue pen on the back of them on mid sole. Soph year 86/87 Wonder if mom threw them out? Probably.
