I love white buffalo! I started collecting Calvin Begay (when he was still doing pieces that he put his name on, not after others started working in his studio) pieces years ago and cherish them to pass down to the next generation. I was told by the place in NV I purchase from that the brown is copper and they consider it “dirty”. It’s not very desirable so I always look for the pure black and white without brown in it.

Thank you for the information I just bought some magnesite down off ofn route 10 and they said it was white buffalo magnesite. It's very white and I think it's very beautiful and I'm sure that they didn't realize they were giving me false information and it wasn't very expensive, wildhorse is a pretty neat name too

hi Cyle - White Buffalo and Wild Horse are both trade names for variations of magnesite with different matrix & mineral content but are both it sounds like your trader was telling you exactly what they were selling, which is great!

Magnesite is a little harder than Calcite, but Quartz which is in White Buffalo stone is very hard. This stone takes a great polish & cuts well. :) Thanks!
