This is a fantastic little railroad me thinks and one which I think might just be the best one I have seen in a while with all of the power and cars on the rails and scenery! If me and my husband Tim had bought the acerage in Lee's Summit 22 years ago now we were considering to build us a log home on, we would have also built us a miniature scale railroad like this on our land, too! One of my friends' boyfriend has one on his land out in nearby Raymore, Missouri where every last weekend in September he has Railfests at his railroad! My friend helps him hostesss for him, cooking for the hundreds of hobbyists who come bring their trains to run his tracks lines for 24 hours straight all weekend long, not bothering another soul along the way! Railroaders stay in their fancy motorhomes, trailers, and tents, camping out on his lawn's fenced in pasture, or stay in nearby hotels, just to run their trains to their hearts content! My friend has beautifully landscaped his railroad for her boyfriend which is first rate! He runs both steam and diesel power on his lines and has for many years now! It's always a treat to be invited to ride his trains there!

I really love watching these operations videos of the small live steam trains. Really cool. Would love to see more of them.

What are your plans for a steam channel cinematic universe. Iron Steam, Captain Fireman: The Winter Hauler, Guardians of the Railroad. Maybe Diesel 10 will take control of the Infinity Whistle and try to destroy half of the Railroad.

I am curious as to the reason why the conductor closed the knuckles after splitting the cars? Leaving them open would make it easier to make joints the next time wouldn't it?

First time I have seen this hobby. I am wondering the cost of these trains and is there a video of how the tracks are built?

The cost is _expensive._ A live steam locomotive in 7.5" gauge could cost anywhere from $20,000 to over $100,000 new depending on whether it's a commercially produced model, a scratchbuild or a custom commission. Electric or gas powered equipment is a lot more reasonable, with the cheapest locomotive I've seen being an industrial switcher for around $2,500 and the most expensive being models of big main-line equipment and even high speed power units going for around $25,000. Rolling stock in its own right can go for around 1,000 per car or so for conventional rolling stock (I've seen a fully functional MOW crane on sale for 35,000). If your local club has a 5" gauge line you might want to start there instead. Funnily enough, such a "small" difference in gauge results in lopping off an entire zero off the price tag at the high end. However, it's hard to find 5" gauge clubs in the US. They're a lot more common in Europe where the smaller gauge is easier to fit into available areas of land.

Do you use these trains to carry cargo from one station to another
@VestedUTuber4 жыл бұрын
Most of the time equipment of this size is primarily used recreationally, but I don't see why you couldn't use it for a light industrial line. However, for that particular purpose you probably would be using more utilitarian equipment rather than functional scale models - for example, using an RMI electric excursion car rather than a live steam locomotive for motive power.

How tall is that rail? It looks higher than 1". Beautiful locomotive, track and action.

Don't use god hand to hook up anything like when you pulled the freight train back to the locomotive.
@TheSteamChannel7 жыл бұрын
Just a habit. On a railroad like this, there are often many trains parking in various sidings and not everyone is looking to pick up extra cars. If someone backed up too far into a freight cut, they might not realize they hooked up.

what is with the brakeman cheating on those ties and cuts? That is what the engine is for. You line the couplers, open the knuckles and tell the engineer to shove ahead for the tie. then you hook up the chains. Your not superman, you can't move those cars? :)
