Thank you for posting this classic based upon the excellent book by Jack London. It reminds me of a wonderful friend I had. His name was Gelert. The name means in Welsh, "Faithful Hound". He lived up to his name 100 %.

Believe it or not, This White Fang 1973 movie was directed by lucio fulci who was famous for his bloody gruesome horror movies found in many grindhouses in the 80's. Yeah, it was mind blowing when I discovered what kind of non-horror movies he used to make. I wish White Fang movies made by lucio fulci was all out on blu-ray and restored like many did with his horror movies.

This was the first of two White Fang (Zanna Bianca) films directed by Lucio Fulci. According to him, they were big-budgeted international co-productions (Italy, France, West Germany and Austria) which were Fulci's top grossing and most commercially successful films in Italy both grossing over 2 billion Italian lire. He claimed to have worked very hard on this film and it's sequel 'Challenge to White Fang' that was produced and filmed the following year after this film was released.

great little movie, specially the man in the bear suit smearing red dye. The "dog fight" was clearly two dogs playing as a camera jolts all around .They kept nipping at one another's cheek area which is a sort of game they play when dogs wrestle for fun.

"It's a wolf! It only knows its wolf ways!" I love how that dog is clearly a German Shepard. Good movie but couldn't they have used a Husky or Northern Inuit as the dog? With that said movie budgets are probably pretty limited when it comes to wolf-like dogs who are trained to act on cue.
