One of my favourite films of all time. An absolute masterpiece. The actress that played Judith was a great cast, she was stunningly beautiful. Everything about this movie is beautiful. 10/10 . I could watch this a 100 times and not be bored. Harvey Keitel was great as were all the cast. It lost money at the box office at the time but maybe westerns were out of fashion then. A truly remarkable film.

Glory Glory dear Retrospective, you show tremendous movies of sheer class and looking at modern movies 1979 must be a pivotal date where real meaningful movies became a thing of the past and there became the great decline in cinema screen. Martin Sheen, Harvey Keitel all apply a major role in a superb cast with a great theme, an awesone music score and as I suffer PTSD and write poetry, may I add I found this film great therapy. At times I have doubted myself in life and one of the great proverbs in this film is if you truly feel you have to fight because you feel it is right so to do, then do it as the doubts you confront are the real test in life to find who you truly are, bless you from the heart. Thank you so much

Definitely a few shelves above the normal fare hereabouts which I sincerely thank you folks for offering. This has luscious cinematography and a solid creative story. He was so convincing in this role, showing all without saying a word. He should have been presented for this role with an award. in my opinion Martin Sheen was the supporting actor for him. Who cares about Harvey in this role? Its about the other twos relationship. Great characters both. Very entertaining movie. Sadly never heard of it before. Deserves more recognition.

What's with critics saying the movie is too slow-paced, bleak, and there's hardly any dialogue? Maybe those aspects will change. I'm forty-eight minutes in, and their assessments haven't been a problem. I'm thoroughly enjoying the random goings-on. Professional critics, you can't trust them.
@chandrashekhara.k.19282 жыл бұрын
The movie is a director's impressionistic explorations revelling in the picturesqueness of the West like the landscape paintings of Albert Bierstadt. The Indian figures in the backdrop of the great West in the movie look like George Catlin paintings in their wild tribal glory. The movie does not have much of a story-line and is more in the style of anthropological documentaries. The photography is the excellent aspect of the film. The hero of the film is really the landscape of the West itself. A rare artistic Western.
