When we were in lockdown two years ago I thought about trying to learn Japanese but it is really hard. Being in the US I know a small amount of Spanish and I am trying to at least learn more French pronunciations but it is difficult when I've already learned Spanish pronunciations. I could still by no means carry on a conversation in Spanish but I could figure out enough to get by. I would love to be able to speak more languages than just English.

French and Spanish are both romance languages so it should be easier to learn French if you already speak some Spanish... I speak Albanian, Italian and English and being a fluent Italian speaker gives me the ability to comprehend a good chunk of Spanish (the central and south american versions expecially, strangely enough) and a little bit of French, Portuguese and Romanian by default. Romance languages have A LOT in common, you'll find out by yourself 👏

My Mom only spoke Spanish and that's where we learned it, but she passed away 3 1/2years ago and I have no one to speak Spanish with. Brothers and sisters speak practically all in English and so do their kids. So if you speak other languages have someone you can speak with to keep the language fresh in your mind.
