Growing up in Pago there's a grip of Tongans, Fijians, Filippinos, Koreans, Chinese, German, Palagis. A few Indian, Afro American, Italian, Portuguese, Mexicans and Arabs. All their kids grow up embracing both cultures like palagi boy, they speak Samoan or both languages fluently. The biggest Filippino I ever seen was back on the Rock. The uso was built like the Hulk. The afakasi girls were all hella fine.

So I have had conversations with this guy when he was living in American Samoa. At one point in his life he was, I believe homeless in Utah, and the tongans around the area took him in, which is how he learned Tongan, that, and because they’re are heaps of Tongans in American Samoa to practice with. I don’t quite remember how he ended up in AS, but I met him through a mutual friend from the village of Leone. I am super surprised and grateful to see him on KZbin of all places! Glad that he’s doing well!

guys, i live in australia, we have many people from Tonga - new Zealand (my misses is kiwi) - Samoa and many other island from the region living here, its amazing how close nit the family culture is, its beautiful to see, be around and to be involved in. if you are ever thinking of taking a family holiday, or even if you are single and taking a holiday, these cultures are a must see ! they will inject massive amounts of love into your life :) love from down under mates x

Straight up white guy here, (with a tiny bit of Maori from my estranged mother's side) stumbled across this.. It was beautiful.. I admire people who are connected to culture and their native tongue.. It was beautiful to see the interactions and connections with the people on a real human level despite the perceived differences due to appearance..

Samoa has the best people. I live in Alaska and there is a huge community here. The block parties they throw are legendary. The food is incredible. They protect their own people. If you mess with one Samoan. You mess with their whole extended family.

I have watched this video several times as my bf came across it because we've been learning Samoan. Me, coming from a Samoan family I know words but I can't really speak it. But being a born and raised Aucklander, knowing the otara markets are an absolutely perfect place to converse in Samoan, this was hilarious af I was laughing so hard. The humor is so good. "Who ate the apple?" "the snake" hahaha I love it. Good on you bro
