"I'm just an old baseball announcer" No sir. You're a legend. RIP

vin scully is the finest sports announcer probably ever (although I admit to a fondness for Chick Hearn of the Lakers), and one of the finest announcing jobs was the Kirk Gibson home run. I watched it live and being a Dodger fan, it was a stellar performance by one of the most recognizable voices in the country. he's well worth that medal.

used to listen to him in Brooklyn before the Dodgers turned into a money machine--then again what Dodgers? You broke our hearts and now you no longer exist

they don't learn; things like that made regular Americans upset. They are so many people that fight daily without that much reward or acknowledgement for this country in many organizations in this country; and they chose these rich celebrities.

leinadem2 This is a award of freedom not honor. say what you'd like about Mr. Scully but he has brought joy and happiness to many hearts for the past 60+ years and showed the beauty of baseball

Elon Musk deserve it more!

I am sure Mr. Musk deserves many good things for all he has done in life but don't rain on Vin's parade thats just not right...p.s. look at the age difference of Musk, 45, and Vin, 88, at the time of the award so still plenty of time for Elton to receive an award of like manner
