I love your music since years. During my pregnancy my mum died. No matter how bad I feel, your music always calms me down and helps me to get through. My little son is six weeks old now and he has the worst three-months colics. Every time we listen to White Lies he calms down, just like me. I guess he remembers this feeling of peace that comes to me when listening to you, from the time inside the womb.

@Tim Jacuzzi Editors are fucking amazing. Lately caught up with White Lies, they are younger, great players and I have a feeling a Time To Give + plus mention of doing a prog album bode well for them taking some chances.
@gr3y_eminence4 жыл бұрын
@@milky7257 I wish I had better answers. However, barring bands you've likely heard of and older bands (don't forget to dig into the roots!), there are a few short lived bands like The Cinematics who totally disappeared in 2009, Love and Terror was a good listen and may appeal more to the guitar focused side. Since White Lies did a riff on Killing Joke's Love Like Blood video I'll mention that one older tip, still going though. They had a more accessible phase come between four postpunk LP's and a heavy and a darker sound; that era was with the album Night Time and Brighter Than a Thousand Suns. It took me forever to get into them but worth a shot; once I did I was glad and it was worth it. I'm tying to find something with the depth of Editors lately, especially their live stuff, b-sides, it's where the fun starts with them. P.S. Soft Moon is awesome, darker...new "postpunk" if you will. Related more remotely but a few songs like Wasted, despite the title are uplifting to me, it's for a darker time and age, like err now!

Over fifteen years we’ve talked about it all I've learned to be as alone as together means Because we bring me down And I drive you up the wall [Chorus] If you've got the mind to leave Then pick a topic to talk about God knows I’ve time to give You've got the backbone to stick around [Verse 2] Eternity I don't quit when the bets are down I'm a careful man, but I'd lose it all for you A word to me Is enough iron to keep the peace I can ruin a day, and I know I do, I do [Chorus] If you've got the mind to leave Then pick a topic to talk about God knows I've time to give You've got the backbone to stick around If you’ve got the mind to leave (Worse or something better) Then pick a topic to talk about (Health or heavy weather) God knows I’ve time to give (Take your car at midnight) You've got the backbone to stick around (Loopholes in the headlights) [Verse 3] A foolish dream Sell the house but still keep the home You know kids grow up And they’ll pin the blame on you I know the theme Luck has never been into me I'm a catch to pain And you dress the scars to proof [Chorus] If you've got the mind to leave Then pick a topic to talk about God knows I've time to give You’ve got the backbone to stick around If you've got the mind to leave (Worse or something better) Then pick a topic to talk about (Health or heavy weather) God knows I've time to give (Take your car at midnight) You've got the backbone to stick around (Loopholes in the headlights) [Bridge] Worse or something better Health or heavy weather Take your car at midnight Loopholes catching light Angels head to toeing Bad blood overflowing Dawn in your sister's kitchen She never trusted him You'll get your weekday evening Handshakes, close to freezing Bad cop pinned to your heart Grace is a dying art [Outro] Nobody cares if you've got time to give No, nobody cares if you've got time to give Oh, nobody cares if you've got time to give It's just an endless hole that you're falling in
