Mr. Clean’s Magic Eraser sponge is a cleaning game changer. I’m sure it will easily remove the blue mark.

I have also used simple glass cleaner sprayed on a paper towel, and for tough stains an alcohol prep pad has removed anything I’ve gotten onto the case.

Keep in mind those sponges are essentially sanding off the surface so you may lose some of the matte texture. It’s probably better than a stain but don’t go overboard! Keep it precise and light.

I ended up getting the white 12.9” Magic Keyboard based off your initial review and I really love it. By far it’s the best typing experience and I actually like it over typing on my 24” iMac. That said I really didn’t want to use it as a travel keyboard because it doesn’t protect the iPad Pro all that great (and this M1 1TB model is very expensive) so for traveling and using the iPad Pro out of the house I also picked up the Logitech Combo Touch with Trackpad (and detachable keyboard). It protects the iPad so much better and it’s actually a better overall case for things like annotating PDFs when I’m in meetings or for watching movies while traveling on a train or plane. The Magic Keyboard will be my go-to at home keyboard experience and hopefully I can keep my white model looking pristine for as long as possible (I’m already noticing its holding up much better than my old black Smart Keyboard Folio from my previous gen iPad) but the Combo Touch will be my go-to for traveling option. If you can swing getting both, highly recommend that! Also, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser might remove that blue mark you have on the back of yours, but don’t rub too hard because that stuff eats through everything.

I am also doing this (buying both combo and the magic keyboard) when I pickup my new 12.9 this week. I agree that one can use the functionality of both. I was thinking that I would return one and just keep the one I liked both but I feel like the combo touch would be a better fit for someone who uses the iPad for notes and pencil use way more than a keyboard. Not sure if I will be an epic keyboarder on the iPad. Never had one before. Time will tell.

I don’t exactly know what it is about the iPad / Magic Keyboard combo, but I consistently pick it up before my M1 MacBook Pro to do everything first. If I run into a hurdle or need specific apps from my Mac, THEN I go get my Mac. But daily tasks like browsing the web, typing up essays, editing photos -I always end up grabbing my iPad first. Final Cut on macOS is really the reason I ever grab my MacBook, though I do know Luma is very good!

We have a gen 3 iPad Pro with black magic keyboard and a gen 5 with a white magic keyboard. I have noticed on the white keyboard that with a screen with mostly white when the backlit keys are on in a dark room the reflection from the screen makes the letters and symbols disappear on the keys. You can get them visible again by tilting the screen all the way back. This was an unexpected downside to the white backlit keys that I never heard anyone mention in the reviews of the white magic keyboard. Still very happy with the gen 5 iPad and magic keyboard combo. Lots of good info on your channel. Thank you.

Alcohol wipes or using a mr. clean magic eraser gets EVERYTHING off of the white Magic Keyboard. I also recommend D Brand skins for keeping both the black and white looking nice.

Mine looks new! I bought a flannel sleeve so when I open it , I place it over and bought a keyboard cover so it looks great. I had a smudge but used a terry cloth and it cleaned it with no issues. I love the white keyboard .

Clorox wipes has worked fine for cleaning my (white) folio case (not for cleaning the device or it’s screen). Also, rubbing alcohol/water mix works well.

I’ve been using my white Magic Keyboard on a 12.9 M1 iPad for a year now and it’s still in great condition - was worried about durability so slapped a skin on the outside which is something I’d highly recommend, but the inside is still immaculate

i suggest buying a transparent keyboard cover specially if it's the black variant, so the keys don't get smudges or at least doesn't show the trail of smudges and really just protect it from dust.

Agree 100% when you say the magic keyboard is the essential iPad Pro accessory and that no other keyboard/trackpad combination or keyboard can beat it.

The must have accessories for the iPad Pro in my opinion is a sleeve and something like a CoverBuddy or Pitaka case. Both will provide the sides of the iPad protection, and the sleeve will keep everything safe while it’s in your bag.

Try “Mr. Clean” eraser sheets and sponge. I tried that on my I-Pad Pro case (Just like yours, and white), and it got some marks, I think it was highlighter or markers. And also try some 409, or all purpose cleaner. I hope that will work. I really like my Magic Keyboard and my I-Pad Pro. I don’t feel wobbling with my keyboard. I love the extra charging port as well. I am typing on the Magic Keyboard right now. You can get both the Mac Book Pro and the I-Pad Pro, and sidecar some apps to the I-Pad Pro like Illustrator and Photoshop, to use as a tablet, in lieu of the Wacom Tablet.

I sold my 11" M1 iPad Pro and its magic keyboard and bought the 12.9" versions. I have to say that typing on the bigger magic keyboard feels a lot nicer than on the 11" MK. The keys have a noticeable click on the bigger MK. As a writer, this new setup is working very well as my mobile workstation. Great video, mate!

@shawn fitzgerald Glad to help! I'd avoid the white keyboard. I've had white key caps on a mechanical keyboard and on a Dell XPS 13 laptop. Both needed constant cleaning from smudges.

All about that apple ecosystem! Yeah, you can still decide to go third party for a keyboard to pair with your iPad, but, even though it's not super hard to pair with the iPad, there's certainly still more steps towards pairing it fully. Versus, you know, just literally plopping your iPad onto the Magic Keyboard just like that. Bish, Bash, Bosh. Bob's your uncle The term "walled garden" that basically describes Apple's ecosystem is, I reckon, the most perfect way to describe the ecosystem. One you're in it, yeah everything works all well and pairs absolutely seamlessly, but, if you try and leave that "garden", you will find it's nearly impossible. BTW, this is coming from someone who is already in that "walled garden". Having an iPad with the Magic Keyboard, iPhone and the Airpods Max. Don't have a Mac though, I got a Windows PC

I don’t know if someone else already suggested it but with that texture you might want to try a magic eraser or the brand less version it worked wonders for my folio case on anything that wasn’t a permanent ink stain!

This is my first Magic Keyboard with my iPadPro 2021 M1 12.9". I liked the looks of the white with the silver. The warnings said it might discolor absorbing the color of other surfaces. I like to keep things looking new, so I have been setting my white keyboard on a while cloth napkin on 99.9% of surfaces. It still looks new. I bought it after my iPad arrived a month after its release. I groaned when I splashed a colored liquid on the inside flap but didn't notice it for a day or 2. I help my breath and rubbed it with a moist cloth and then "dried" with a towel. Since the spot would be covered up by the iPad I wasn't entirely devastated even though I had had it for a month. When the spot completely dried it looked as good as new. I use it several - many times a day, every day, and it still looks new as if out of the box. I also make sure my hands are washed if I have been eating or doing other things before picking up my keyboard. Finally I love this keyboard c of the response of the keys, My typing speed has increased on this keyboard. It sits on the couch center console cover nexts to me and I am grabbing it constantly for just about everything, especially where typing is concerned. It even does well resting it on my lap. I put it in a foam lined carrying case when I take it to work and to weekly chorus rehearsals where I remove the iPad from the keyboard which goes back in the case. I held my breath spending an extra $100 for the keyboard, but I LOVE this keyboard!

To me, the Magic Keyboard hardware is absolute beauty of an experience. Tactile, satisfying, and high-quality. But iPadOS 15.1 sometimes doesn’t allow typing due to some cursor bugs… And this friggin bug has been with iPad since the beginning of iPadOS UGHH- Apple gotta make iPadOS more stable and I’ve been waiting like 2 or more years

Curious if. you have found any little peeling or splitting issues anywhere on your keyboard case. I saw that John Gruber (Daring Fireball) has a number of issues on his and several other people posted pics of theirs. I can't find where I saw it--thought Twitter but not sure. I thought probably because they hadn't been taken care of as carefully as my about 8. Mos old case (which I use every day, often in my lap--on my 2021 12.9 pro, used a bit on 2018 12.9Pro) but on close examination, found a small split at bottom right of trackpad on edge--a place I never even touch that I'm aware of. Curious if anyone else has issues--Gruber's were around several keys, others were on edges of case--its the soft material used on case. I am guessing this split on mine will result in peeling at some point--in meantime, I too use mine instead of Macbook Pro or phone (or Mini 5) most of the time.

I totally agree that the magic keyboard is the best typing experience on iPad. I still prefer the Logitech Combo Touch because it gives me my favorite features of the Surface on iPad. But typing can’t be beat on Apples keyboard.

So… I flip mine around, put my phone in between the keyboard and iPad and it keeps it at an angle I enjoy writing on. That helped me with that issue.

The workflow is quite different between Mac and iPad. Especially the file management system. So much better on a Mac. Apple Pencil is the game changer between the two. I still can’t believe Magic Keyboard on iPad is still better than the Magic Keyboard for iMac and the keyboard on the new MacBook. I always think the bigger the better I have bought a Folio Touch. The typing experience is great, great protection and can fold around, have a little “belt” can protect my Apple Pencil from falling out accidentally.The keys and the outside is still very new after half year of use. I always use the keyboard can be detected as it’s so heavy to use when holding it. The combo touch improved further but lose the little “belt”

Hi All, Anyone have any idea why the Magic Keyboard would have issues typing when in Split View? When I have an app open and open another app in Split View or Slide Over view, I can’t type in that pulled in or the other main app. I have to close the apps or open them in full screen view for the keyboard to type in that selected app. The trackpad will click on the apps, it just won’t recognize typing. Thoughts? (2020 11” iPad Pro with 2021 Magic Keyboard and iOS 15.1)

I also really hate it when I have to take my iPad Pro off the Magic Keyboard and write/draw on it. The Magic Keyboard would just sit there taking up space if I don't close it. And if I do close it it's an extra annoyance. It's got so bad that I'm thinking of replacing my Magic Keyboard with a non-keyboard folio case, since my main PC keyboard is the Logitech G913 TKL, which has a one-key switch to Bluetooth connection. For on-the-go usage, I'm probably gonna get the Logitech Pop Keys and Pop Mouse set. With a colorful folio case for the iPad Pro to match. The Magic Keyboard really is for people who predominately type on the keyboard, not for people who does a lot of typing and a lot of Pencil work.

Hey buddy, try eucalyptus oil (or baby oil. they are the same thing). It is the only thing that removes the blue jeans stains on my white apple watch sport strap.

My white Magic Keyboard is pretty much ready for the bin after 2 years of daily use. The rubbery surface of the "palm rests" started coming off after 1 year. It shouldn't be necessary to baby your case. Horrible build quality.
