I agree with your review wholeheartedly. I have the white for my iPad Pro 12.9 and I have the black for my iPad Air. I use the large iPad all the time and it is very easy to clean and looks better than the black. My black one, even though I clean it regularly, it does not look as nice. I will be getting another white one for my Air and I will be gifting my black one to a friend.

Nice comparison. Just bought a M2 iPad Pro and was torn between the black and white magic keyboard and ultimately went with the white due to also switching from my last iPad being space gray to going with silver this time and the new combo is perfect. I was a little worried about dirt but between being a clean freak in general and now seeing this video, I'm a lot more at ease with my decision. The back light is really not a concern for me and hasn't really been a problem at all since I got the keyboard a few days ago.

Thanks for this. Just ordered a Rose iPad Air and black Magic Keyboard and was questioning whether I should switch it for white. After seeing the two side by side, I'm going to be happier with the black. Not only the more responsive backlight, which is a big deal to me, but because It looks cleaner to me to match the black border of the iPad. I'm going to be looking at that more than the sides of the iPad and how it looks with the Rose. Thanks so much for this. It helped me a lot. (Sooooo nervous! The lights level only looks less on the white cause of simultant contrast (the area around the light is lighter, so it looks less bright)

I had a 2018 12.9 iPad Pro and got the first Magic Keyboard for it in black. I sold it a couple weeks ago and decided to get the latest silver 11" M1 Pro. (Very nice iPad by the way) I went back and forth for a couple days trying to decide on the color I wanted for the new Magic Keyboard and finally went with white--partially because it's just new and I already had a black one and partially because it looked really nice with the silver 11" Pro. I was/am a little worried about what it will look like, since my black one looked pretty rough with scuffs & scratches and I don't really do anything too "hardcore" with it other than taking it in and out of my bag a few times a day. But so far, after a few days, it's looking good. Also, interesting about the light sensor taking longer to turn on the keyboard light. Maybe the white is just easier to see, even in low light.

Honestly it’s not anything i or anyone else has noticed unless you’re like staring at it and are like “I am going to now observe the visible light that escapes this accessory” so no biggie. Yeah it gets a bit dirty certainly but not too much :) and I wipe it and sanitize more often than I would with the black one. And might I add how exceedingly far rarer the white one is than the black one. Which aligns with how much more black & silver is compared to blue. Same “phenomenon” occurs with cars. Mostly black, silver, gray, white. Or anything for that matter. So that would explain why I guess.

@@Tech4Baba I let her decide eventually :) And she went for the space grey + black. But what we found a little disapoinjting was tnat the keyboard has a very limited range of bending. So it is impossible to use it as a folded iPad etui. Unlike the previous, more simple iPad keyboard, one without touchpad. You could fold it the opposite direction, put flat on the table and draw. Impossible with this fancy stuff, the MagicKeyboard. We had to buy another iPad case :/
