Everything looks good. Just use a 1104L box for the receptacle. The box can be screwed to your enclosure in the same spot where you mounted the plug. It will look exactly the same but will now meet code.

@@Lime.-.Leaf. US NEC for electrical (plugs, outlets, high voltage), in this case no box for wires could potentially leave a hazard for sparks, which could cause a fire. the media box is fine, but the 120v plug that he screwed in has no box for itself (which it needs)

This is the kind of box I wanted to use as a media enclosure for all my network cables and switches. All the ones made specifically for that purpose require 16" OC studs but all the areas I would put one have 24" OC studs. None of the media enclosure boxes have clamps to mount it to drywall like that.

This is not even close to up to code. Do not listen to this dude!! For low voltage HDMI/Network cables its fine but the second he added an outlet in that box it goes against all safe practices andbis a fire hazard. All electrical outlets need to be in a box and not this box where the back of the receptacle is exposed.

I know your media boxes don't come with it but it doesn't mean you can't figure out a way to attach something and make it right--and if you can't because it won't look nice, then the product isn't right. I hope for yours and your clients' sake you're at least looping the wire at the outlet screw connections in the correct orientation

However, upon further digging; when you look up the actual language it does say "Flexible cords are not permitted to be run through holes in walls" You are right I did my homework! Power Bridge also says its not compliant on their website. They are using some tricky wording!

I have found some mounts that attach to similar boxes that attach between studs so you can fold the arms into the wall, giving the option of having the TV flat on the wall, or pulling them out for full motion. Do have any experience with these types of mpunts?

I work in the same industry, but in Europe/Switzerland. Our walls are constructed with bricks or concrete. I wish I could cut something from the wall out; we have to carefully consider it when constructing buildings.

To the people complaining about the "outlet", I know nothing of electrical codes and what not, but he mentioned that it's a power bridge, and it took me less than 10 seconds to Google it and find out that power bridges are.. PowerBridge, does not make direct wired connection to the primary electrical premise-wire circuits. PowerBridge is not the same as installing a standard outlet receptacle, as it does not add to, create a new circuit, change or modify the premise wiring. All copied and pasted from Google. PowerBridge hides the ugly cords that connect to your TV from your devices like your cable box, DVD player or game system and provides electrical power connection for the TV safely and easily. PowerBridge in-wall kits meet National Electrical Code 400.7 specifically permits the installation to meet Code
