Beautiful return for Jean even though it cost us Cyclops again. As a hardcore fan of Cyclops, I understand why they didn’t revive him yet because honestly he deserves a better return. Also the fact that Cyclops has been through hell ever since he became the oficial leader of the X-men since House of M. People criticize Cyclops for his methods and actions but Cyclops always did the hard choice and mostly the right one which is why he’s the definitive leader and field commander of the X-men. Besides Captain America, Wolverine states in the past that he’d follow Cyclops anywhere in battle and respects him even with their differences. Every leader that came after Cyclops like Storm, Wolverine, Havok and Kitty Pryde learned how to be a leader through Cyclops examples. For all you Cyclops fans, let’s be patient that I hope Marvel can bring him back and make him better.

Cylus O'Brady exactly! Like she's the WPoTC. I think that's a fitting end to the character arc of her and the PF. Like, this is part of her mutant ability and why she's considered beyond omega. Storm Bey you are right...it was aloha mutant in whatever comic...although I don't think it was the 616 earth....still Jean is definitely implied to be above the typical onega level mutant for the very reason that Phoenix considers her the most perfect host despite all the beings in the universe. .....it says something about Jean.

In fact, I think it would be better if the Shi'ar captured the Phoenix once more and became the protectors/jailers of the PF again. It would simplify things and also make them relevant again.

Definitely not a fan of Jean casting away the Phoenix and that Marvel retconned their full merging in Endsong....sigh. There is just too much history between the two....and the idea of Jean way back was to elevate her to the first cosmic heroine....I wish they had gone that direction. And, leave the Teen Jean to carry on the earthly stories. Marvel also has been using Phoenix in these past few years as a simple plot device instead of treating the entity as a character and developing it like they did with Galactus. To think they had a whole big cosmic event with all the classic cosmic entities last year and not even a mention of the Phoenix Force whose role is perhaps among the most vital. Then again...since they have rebooted the multiverse....who knows what Phoenix role is now.....probably just to continue serving as an event plot slave....very disappointed. Still I do love both Jean and Phoenix individually but when they are together that is when it is magic.

Exactly. Where was White Phoenix of the Crown when the multiverse was destroyed and recreated? I mean she is second only to TOAA. Her whole is the life itself, so how can she not be involved in that event? How can you create multiverse without the Phoenix Force? Are they implying that we supposed to think Phoenix Force is automatically involved without the need of mention? I doubt they were that smart to think that cause they used Phoenix Force recently in like 4 other titles. I know for a fact in a year or 2, Phoenix will be rejoin with Jean. They have to. Lol. It's not supposed to. If you were to draw parallels between the Marvel universe characters specifically these mysterious omnipotent cosmic entities and Christianity (You could choose any other religion. I'm just mentioning Christianity here as it is easier to explain), I guess they would closely resemble angels. The term God is very confusing and used too loosely tbh.. just like the angels in Christianity, these cosmic entities (The Phoenix Force, the Celestials and Living Tribunal etc..) were created by God (The One Above All) and were bestowed with great powers to serve their purpose and carry out God's will upon mankind and the universe. While they may be very powerful, they are not supposed to interfere with or upset the natural order of things/alter reality/history /fate of any being in the universe, which was what The Phoenix Force essentially did when it saved Jean's life and fused itself with her body during the events of the space mission Jean and the X-Men was embarking on. Subsequently The Phoenix Force decided to remain in Jean Grey's body and continued living as Jean adopting her identity, life and memories, which ultimately paved the way for it to turn evil. Just like angels, these cosmic entities were never meant to experience human emotions or have free will to pursue their own desires and agenda. The story of the Phoenix and it's descent into darkness mirrors the story of Lucifer in the bible who fell from grace and turned evil because he refused to do God's bidding and rebelled against Him. The longer The Phoenix Force inhabited Jean's body, the more unstable as it became because it was not accustomed to feeling all these human emotions including pain and sorrow. Eventually it became corrupted by Master mind and his stupid team who wanted to exploit its vast divine powers for themselves. As a result, The Phoenix Force started to lust for more power without caring about the consequences of her actions like destroying an entire solar system because she consumed their sun. Over the years as it has gone on to inhabit different bodies, though Jean remained as its favourite and became a villainous character due to its insatiable appetite for power. The being who was supposed to be guardian of all creation became a force of destruction instead and here it's even shown trying to tempt Jean with the prospect of playing God and altering reality to suit her liking

I get why they wouldn't want to bring both of them back at the same time. But when Cyclops eventually comes back, Jean better not die (again) or settle for Logan. This was actually one of the best Marvel’s stories so far since their “all New, all “Crap” Marvel”. I read Marvel comics for a long time and was kinda turn off by some of the writers’ stories. Sorry, had to come up with something. :p Marvel’s stories had not been good these few years. In fact, kinda push me away. I had been saying for a year now that they are writing agendas than crafting a story. The funny thing was Jean is supposed to be unrelatable to most because she is an Omega-level Mutant (or at that time Alpha Mutant). She wields the Phoenix Force which allows her to be a goddess in her own rights. But the most relatable part about her was her humanity and her “mother-like” figure to the X-Men. Yet, this story was well written (to me) and maybe it is because it is good to see Jean alive again (with or w/o the Phoenix Force). To be honest, her giving up the Phoenix Force was kinda sad to me. But I believe the Phoenix Force might not give up on her just yet.

She's back. I'm still in shock. I almost quit reading X-Men in 2003-2004, when Jean died in Planet X. I was outraged, I felt betrayed by every writer who was working ont he books at that time. Magik, Colossus, Psylocke, Phoenix, Magneto...it seemed like my favorite characters were dropping like flies. (this trend, sadly, didn't end with them) People talk smack about the ReLoad, and the 2004 Excalibur series in particular where Magneto came back, but if not for that I don't know if I'd have stayed with the books. Over the next couple of years, each of these characters was resurrected, some in good, or at least interesting ways (Magik, Colossus), some in ways that made no sense (Psylocke, Magneto), but through the mass wave of deaths and resurrections, one person stayed noticeably gone: Jean Grey. We got Phoenix: Endsong, where she came back for one last hurrah to sacrifice herself for the team and Cyclops (again), and then nothing else. The PHOENIX FORCE came back a bunch of times, sure, but Jean herself was absent. It wouldn't stick, we all knew this. But where it only took six years the first time, this time it took a full fourteen. The X-Men are nothing like they were when Jean died, and haven't been for a while. House of M, Deadly Genesis (a story I still hate), the Decimation, Necrosha, Age of X, Uncanny X-Force, AvX and the Phoenix Five, Charles' death, the Uncanny Avengers and the Axis event...the world of the X-Men is so drastically different now than it was when she died, and that's what fascinates me the most. How is Jean going to cope with the world as it is now? And this is a Jean I've always wanted to see. No Scott, no Logan, no Phoenix, not even Charles Xavier...just Jean Grey as an X-Man. This is a true test of character for her, and something I feel was long overdue even BEFORE she died.

Raharmon Nelson to be chosen by Phoenix is special (though random possession such as in AvX or when thanos’ son hosts a fragment of Phoenix is possible). Jean grey demonstrates her worthiness because she values life so much that she refuses to die at the last moment to save her friends, and is not afraid to die after saving them. It’s her qualities and her compassion for life that make her special. Phoenix force cannot feel, so it needs someone who can feel as much as jean grey does.

The X-men hasn’t been the same without Cyclops. He’s the field commander of the X-men and Jean Grey and him were beautiful until Ema Frost came into the picture. Cyclops always did the hard choice not the easy one because he could live with that choice. A reason why Wolverine always that he wouldn’t follow anyone else but Cyclops. Yes Scott was an asshole sometimes and some decisions were questionable but in the end he was always right his methods were a little off but his argument was mostly right.

We know he is back, he has a infinity stone that may have revived him and he remembers his entire past. If he was in this story he would of told Jean to do to herself what she did to cyclops because her time has passed.

At first I felt the first half of this video to be annoyingly overwhelming, to be honest. But as I forced myself to stick it out for the second half when old man Logan encountered Jean and when Jean was convincing the Phoenix that things cannot be what it wanted, I found the second half of this video very fascinating.

In reality though... if this would actually happen Jean Gray wouldn’t have a say... because the Phoenix is an energy and obviously it’s attracted to her for a reason... it would probably stay within her till the end if there is ever an end for Jean gray.
