I was surprised they didn't mention the historic Bloomingdale Hospital, built in 1894 by the Society of New York Hospital on the hill across from the Westchester Mall...it overlooks the land where WP was purchased from the native Americans. 21st Century mental health care happens on 214 acres of beautiful grounds. The main buildings are updated and modernized while still maintaining the historic healing beauty and structures.

I'm a White Plains Native. Went to Church street school, the old post road school, and highlands. Moved to New Rochelle in 1997. Do you remember "Flix City" movie rental shop?

Where was flix city? I think I was too young. My parents used to take me to the blockbuster on tarrytown road next to the subway and papa johns.

@@MrRetidy Flix City was across the street from Post Road school. It was on the same strip as Ernesto's pizza if you know where that is. I think it shut down in 1997. I was 10 in 1997 and I moved to New Ro that year. White Plains was awesome in the 90s.
