Thanks for sharing your review and thoughts! The White River Knives website Accessories page has the newest sheath available for purchase. Also, as other commenters have mentioned the G10 handle scales kits are also now available to fit the Backpacker model - for those interested in upgrading. Thanks!
@TheLateBoyScout6 жыл бұрын
Awesome news! Great prices on those upgrades too. Well done.

Just received my Backpacker with Paracord handle wrap yesterday. I've been collecting knives for a while and own everything from Chris Reeve to Reate to Spyderco etc. Mostly folders up until now. I recently got on a neck knife kick-- thinking if I found the perfect neck knife that had zero printing under my shirt I'd at least always have a knife on me for EDC tasks.I tried 8 different neck knives and ended up with stainless Esee Izula -- that was until I got my Backpacker- The perfect neck knife!! It came razor sharp and mine has s35v steel. I also have a Spyderco ARK w serrated edge that I carry as well.

White river has some great looking designs. This one has caught my attention several times.

Wow. One of the most underrated aspects of this video is your AUDIO. Holy smokes, what lav mic is that? Or what processing was done? Or was there a shotgun mic off-screen. Your audio is spectacular in this video and you look like you're just in the forest. That being said, I love this knife. I bought it today and I really love how it looks!
@TheLateBoyScout Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! I don't recall exactly what audio gear I used for this shoot (it's been 5 years), but it was probably this cheapo lav (link below), plugged into my Zoom H1. I would have done minimal audio processing, just using Adobe Premier presets for compression, and eq. Glad you liked it! amzn.to/3XSuAOu
@Dracomies Жыл бұрын
@@TheLateBoyScout Oh if you did EQ then that would make sense! You likely know more about audio than the average knife reviewer. Yeah your audio, especially for a lav mic and (5 years ago at that) was spectacular in this vid.
@TheLateBoyScout Жыл бұрын
@@Dracomies Thanks again! If you like the audio on this, maybe you'll like one of my recent music videos (yes, music videos). Here's the most recent one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/faDCdGiihaZ7oLs

The deep finger choil on small knives really does help on closeup work.

I love the lines, the handle looks really ergonomic
@Cr0cket207 жыл бұрын
I like the looks of that. Seems like it would function well. And the blades show at about 3:21 have some gorgeous handle scales.
@joedidit96307 жыл бұрын
The backpacker is nicer to look at than the Izula. I think I like the caper version though.
@Mitcheco7 жыл бұрын
not a huge fan of skeletonized fix blades or paracord personally, so I would definitely go with the caper since it's got those nice handle scales
@michaelask60237 жыл бұрын
I really like the deep finger choil as to not slip up on the blade.
@ericdale56707 жыл бұрын
That looks like the best value so far. I think I should own one.

Also, I would like to see the corner rivet/grommet removed and the corner cut off to make a more minimal sheath as well! Great video thanks!
@96joe7 жыл бұрын
Nice I like the first knife more do to the sheath alone isn’t the the little u shaped cut out beneath the blade for the ferro rod
@rhahnabunaid7 жыл бұрын
I like this one! Doesn't beat the Guardian 3 for me, but it's very aesthetically pleasing. The cordwrapping also makes it look better than the Caper imo.

It's a neat knife but it does seem a bit large for a neck knife. I definitely like the rainier better I think it's more ascetically pleasing.

raymond schroerlucke they sell G10 scales for these for just $20.
@raymondschroerlucke5417 жыл бұрын
Rein Worker yes you can get g10 scales for that price but you need too consider that you need the tools to carve the scales to the dementons of the handle and your hand and time to make it fit on and also the good glue or pin to put on the it
@raymondschroerlucke5417 жыл бұрын
Rein Worker yes but I was referring to the ones on Amazon were you can get different designs instead of the plan colors that are on the web site
