White Salmon and the Columbia River Gorge from the air

Hey! Just noticed your channel and wanted to show some appreciation for your work. I grew up in Hood River and regularily visit the gorge and other places around the northwest to film reptiles. You have captured a number of places familiar to me in your videos and it warms my heart to see others highlighting the pacnw!

Thanks- indeed it was beautiful. There are tons of spots to legally fly a drone there too, but Mother Nature sends a roaring wind down the gorge. Interestingly, when I visited the Bonneville Dam (both the Oregon and Washington sides), the gate guards asked if I had a drone in the vehicle. I told the guard on the Washington side that I had one but that I wouldn't fly it there. He let me through. On the Oregon side, the guard asked if I had "any federally illegal drones" and I said no. :)

It's funny you mention trains, because on the way back to Washougal, I drove parallel to a BNSF train for about 20 minutes on WA-14 because it was travelling nearly road speed and the track is very close to the roadway for long distances.

Wow I’m late lol. I have lived in hood river and White salmon all my life! I wouldn’t say white salmon is the best town in Washington state but definitely a nice small community to grow up in.

What would you say is a good place to live in washington or oregon? For whitewater kayaking and snowboarding, but also within an hour commute of job growth?

I had the privilege of White Salmon being my hometown; and I spent the first 19 years of my life growing up, on 17 acres on the Eastern edge of town! 1952-1971! CHS Class of 1970 ! Beautiful perspective, thanks for sharing!

@@zacsav4ge100White Salmon is definitely one of the best , cleanest little towns anywhere… I’ve been to a lot and lived in quite a few.. White Salmon is where I choose to live and raise my family
