Another wonderfully informative video! And thanks for the reminder to bring along a flashlight for when the sun goes down and it gets dark. I live in Colorado and would have remembered the jacket for the cooler night temps but not the flashlight! I LOVE your rig, too! Happy trails!

I’m planning a trip from SoCal to east of Dallas. I’m enjoying your videos and reviews as I plan. Why would you recommend against the route through Cloudcroft to Carlsbad? I appreciate your advice!

6-7% grades for 16 miles. And a runaway truck ramp on the route is always a sign of steepness. We’ve done that before but just decided we didn’t want to do that on this trip. Plus, it gave us an excuse to see Roswell.
