If you drove this in the army you would have a ground guide meaning some one would be walking ahead of the vehicle look ing for issues.

Low tires are easy to unseat and have a totally flat tire. Be sure you are prepared for this type of flat not easy to change. Jack is not on pavement.

What engine does your rv have? Transmission? My parents we did a rv trip in the 70,s love to travel I guess that’s why I grew up to be a truck driver 😊 enjoyed the journey 😊

Watched video after I did trip! Transit 350 medium length high top AWD stock , Moab up trail to the park. A little worried about clearance because Transits ground clearance is limited, there is a ledge at bottom of switchbacks that dragged trailer hitch a bit all plastic OK. I do think AWD helps as I had no wheelspin at all with stock tires. Dry conditions for me , have fun! An extended length van with all that overhang could drag in some spots.

Do you think a stock Trd Pro 4Runner would be able to do this trail to get to balanced rock?
@RVHomeschool2 ай бұрын
@@ag4591 You may want to make sure this route is still open. Someone posted how they were making part of it into an Utah state park. If it’s open I would say a 4Runner is fine to get into Arches on it.

I believe this was the main access road when Arches first became a National Monument. The main entrance came later when the park was expanded into a National Park. Interestingly, Delicate Arch was not part of the original National Monument.

Thanks for the video! Are any of the readings listed from the LITERATURE or READERS sections needed to complete the lap book? Or is all the information in the lap book related only to the readings from the HISTORY section?
@RVHomeschool2 ай бұрын
@@samanthaandrews8964 Neither. I would argue they have some limited information in the lap book that you use when building the activity. So you wouldn’t need any other specific history spine (or literature book). Although it does pair nicely with what the kids are learning about with the history spines and the readers.

great video!! Do you think i could do this in a lifted 4x4 pickup? Looks like your jeep is lifted - did you scrape the bottom at all or were there any big obstacles you had to climb? Thanks for any info you can provide - i appreciate your videos and this one looks absolutely gorgeous.

@@christophersimon7521 We saw other pickups on the drive. I don’t remember any of the switchbacks being so tight that a truck couldn’t handle. I think you’ll be fine. The lift is the important thing to clear the rocks.

Very cool! What's the etiquette when/if you encounter another jeep going in the opposite direction on the narrow spots that are only wide enough to accommodate one vehicle?
@RVHomeschool2 ай бұрын
Colorado law says the uphill vehicle has the right of way. But in practice, we find the vehicle that has the shortest distance to a pull out is the one who pulls aside. On the trails I find people are the kindest drivers - being respectful to other drivers and helping when we have problems. It’s one of my favorite parts of jeeping - it brings out the best in people.

Stoney pass along the southwestern part of the Alpine Loop is the most unenjoyable section due to a maze of close trees (no views) and the very bumpy loose 4” rocks. I typically just do the upper half of the loop and back the same half.

i have a question, I am about to drive highway 50 and drive this road. I am driving a toyota Rav4 , i won’t need chains or anything fancy for my car. That is only for RVs right?
@RVHomeschool3 ай бұрын
Technically Colorado has chain laws in effect from Labor Day to Memorial Day for ALL vehicles. It means you either need chains for your tires, or you need 4WD and snow tires with good tread. They were sick of bald tires on 2WD cars causing winter accidents. If you don't have either of those you can be ticketed. And if you have an accident the ticketing fee is higher (plus, you'll probably be considered at fault). Check CDOT for further details on chain laws.

@@RVHomeschool depends on the area. We’ve had issues with mice getting into the truck and chewing wires. But it’s been a while since that happened. There was a little hole by the slide out edge that was just big enough for mice. It appeared after we pulled up the carpet.
