You didn't lower your feed dogs when you were doing the free motion sewing with the hoop? There's a switch beside where the bobbin holder is push down on it. It lowers the feed dogs for free motion sewing.

I notice you didn't have a free motion foot? Is this the case with all white jeans machines, as I couldn't find a free motion foot with my feet that came with my machine.

I'm so confused on the part where she takes the bottom thread and brings it up. I don't get what u mean by a loop will form like is the bottom string suppose to go through the top loop or?? wish u would of done a close up...

The top thread loops the bottom thread and brings it up to the top. I believe is what she means.

Where would I go to find out how old my machine is? I just have all the paperwork that came with it saying they bought it in 1967. nothing about the year it is made. the model is 970 and the serial number is 4083. any help you could give would be wonderful, I also have another older one and would love to find the date as well. linbugg Bit late, but my sister got hers in 2005 as a gift. White used this general model from provably the mid 90s to the mid 2000s. It’s pretty basic.

i know it’s been a while since this video was made but my sewing machine keeps jamming. does anyone know how to fix this??

could be a few things probably that would cause that. i would recommend making sure you know how to use and adjust everything, then you'll be sure not to be causing the jamming. For example, do you know how to adjust the tension of the bobbin case? And do you know why you would want to increase or decrease that tension? If you learn all there is to learn about the different settings and adjustments, then you might realize exactly why it's jamming.
