Yes. It’s human nature to think something is being taken from you rather than just given to others. That’s why this is such a hard thing to eradicate. Look at the leadership in Congress. They would rather get in bed with white supremacists and maintain their ‘power’ than stand for democracy. That’s how foul racism is.

Standardized resources sounds a lot like Communism...
We need standardized tests because everyone should be smart. If we 'take it easy' on a certain segment of society then we have a segment of society that can't compete in the real world... Why would that ever be a good thing? This guy seems to think that life is something _other_ than *competition.* Those who _can_ win, do... Why would one group give charity and 'standardized resources' to another group, when we are all in competition? Compete or die... Duh.

I feel ya. Sometimes when I make eye contact with folks and smile, they seem wary... Or they purposely avoid eye contact entirely, because they are worried that I'm one of those scary, crazy white women. I always remember that folks of color (and with disabilities) have struggled to be seen for the good humans they are by people like me for a long, long time. So I do not ignore the pain of often being seen as a possible 'Karen'... I instead take it as a small emotional lesson of the much larger struggles some folks experience many times a day, simply because they exist in their skin. Unfortunately, I can't get into reassuring conversations with every person I meet... But I CAN smile with true love energy and practice graciousness and courtesy. 💕 ~THC

If I may weigh in, it's quite easy actually (since I try to reverse the damage of racism amongst the people of my nation everyday) and I think some of the other repliers here make good points, but mine is quite simple. The key lies in "Us and Them" as soon as they don't want to define (or joke away) why there is a distinction, you know there is a discomfort/guilt somewhere in their deeper psychology. Just my 2 cents worth. Admitting my bias, I'm absolutely Egalitarian and that we can talk about the past, but if We (all humans) don't talk about the future with us united, then racism will always be subversive. :)

Which serves to amplify the horrible plight of most countries in sub Saharan Africa. Because people from that part of the continent were flocking to South Africa all throughout apartheid. Horrible state all around.

He's telling the truth, period. Behavior, first of all, is learned. Education is very important. I was a Librarian since 1981...

He is always on point. Unfortunately the people who NEED to hear this, won’t even try. Or if forced to listen, won’t believe it because they don’t WANT to hear it. I’m just glad slowly but surely SOME are grasping truth and deconstructing their old beliefs and now understand the reality we live in and are willing to fight for ALL people and equal rights and treatment. Maybe we will get it together in the next 300 years? Maybe.
