This is not a white van subwoofer. Kgk electronics was a real company that sold audio systems, tv's, mp3 players, camera's...etc.., their products were actually sold at electronic chains across Canada (Best Buy, Future Shop among others). From what little research I did Kosch was one of their brand names, another was Kavi, the company went bankrupt in 2007. So I'm guessing that if you got this from a white van then they bought very old dead stock and tried to resell them.

That didn't even sound like a subwoofer it just sounded like a mid-bass driver being forced to play out of its frequency range. I thought the bad sound and the coil slapping at the start was because you had already damaged it but nope, I was wrong. It looked untouched so that must be how it sounded out of the box..........Very sad. But hey, what do you expect? It's China after all LMAO

If only you had a pair of these....you could take one of them, connect the speaker terminals to a power cord, while the speaker is still connected to the amp (but the amp otherwise is not connected to anything) and plug that power cord in, and watch both speaker and circuitry buzz, pop and explode.

I'm thinking it's either a 4th order bandpass enclosure that looks good on Paper but performs like shit in reality (these enclosures leave no room for errors), or the amplifier is overloading the Woofer. How many watts is the amplifier? Btw that Woofer seems half-decent. Magnetically shielded, foam Surround for a long throw, vented Voice coil, not bad.

hey i got a pair of 6.5" speakers ita just the drivers no box and was wondering the best way to blow them i got many powerful crown amplifiers should i just give them a go or see how they sound first i pulled them out of a truck they had nice boxes i decided to put better woofers in the box now left with drivers unsure if they sound any good or not

Put them in boxes and see how they sound. If they have a reasonable amount of excursion and decently sized VC, keep them. If neither, just donate them to one who just wants to have fun with them. I wouldn't blow them.

70 volt PA / intercom systems use a transformer on the back, you often can choose the wattage that comes though by what wire you hook up

Of course it's hard for me to say considering I'm only going by a KZbin video, but it actually doesn't seem terrible for a scam speaker (other than the fact that it lives a double life as a mid range). Of course there was distortion, but the amp seems to be a good match for the sub, and the circuitry isn't awful. I've certainly seen far worse.

actualy ac wil kill the speaker.. dc will just make it stay static. the water shorting it out would still send ac to the speaker. in those amps even if they blow or short out it wont blow the speaker..or it will buzz(like it happened in the video) or it wont do any sound at all
