Home Secretary Yvette Cooper condemned the shocking scenes of violence that erupted and were widely shared on social media Thursday evening. She warned that those behind the "audacious criminality" would "face the full force of the law."
On Friday, Roma community representatives met with Leeds City Council to "express concerns about a family matter" from July 18.
Previously, police reported being called around 5 pm on Thursday after social workers faced hostility while dealing with a child protection issue. Responding officers were attacked but managed to help the social workers reach safety.

I grew up in a poor area in london in the eighties in North woolwich and nobody did this. Grew up with parwnts that struggled and by Sunday we didn't have much to put a decent meal together. Which made me just want to make sure that i could grow up and have enough so my kids would always have food in the fridge and cupboards. If british white people started to use poverty as a excuse to set a bus on fire or riot, Tue police would of been all over it. Social housing, My two sons will never gwyva social house because immigrants come first. Just leave the homeless on the streets and no NHS dentist but look after tue men coming over on the boats.
