The Gura Gura no mi creates and manipulates vibrations. An explosive shockwave is a vibrational force one in which the Gura Gura no mi user could cancel out rendering even high yield bombs useless. But that means that The Gura Gura no mi has the potential to create on the spot without any other source one of the most powerful aspects of an explosion, the expanding shockwave bubble. The Gura Gura no mi could in theory shatter anything solid by finding its harmonic resonance and matching it, increasing the strength of that vibration till the object itself can't contain the energy and breaks to release it. When Sengoku says that is a fruit capable of destroying the world he is 100% right. Imagine if WB had placed both his hands on the ground at Marineford and unleashed every ounce of his strength out into the ground as a single powerful shockwave. Once the shockwave clears the crust assuming their planet has the same layer of crust as our planet that is 3-5 miles thick from ocean bottom to around 25 miles thick on the continents. Once it passes this solid rock it reaches the mantle and then the outer core. The Mantle is filled with magma which is a semi-solid molten rock. Semi-Solid enough to allow Vibrations to pass through it easily with the inner core even thinner than that. Once that Vibrational wave hits the core and begins to bounce off, those waves will begin bouncing around the same way a loudspeaker echos in a sealed off room. That vibration would cause a cascade of waves through the liquid and semi solid layers sending these vibrations to bounce back up to the crust level. This movement in the mantle will result in things like tectonic plates spreading as mantle magma is forced through the crust at a weak point, volcanos erupting, and numerous quakes along the seafloor causing rockslides and tidal waves. Sending massive waves across the surface to crash over islands wiping smaller islands off the map. Now imagine you live in a world were the ground is shaking, waves are racing across the sea smashing islands that they come across, the volcanos are pouring lava over the land burning villages, releasing metric tons of gas and smoke and enough ash to choke everyone for hundreds of miles. And its not just one, its not just ten it would be tens if not hundreds of volcanos pouring this out all at once. The world cools from loss of sunlight, the air on any island with the volcano or surface vent spews out toxic gas that chokes the life out of anything on the island if given enough time and of course the ash turns the water to sludge, and fills the lungs of the victims killing hundreds of thousands daily. Wouldn't that feel like the end of the world? And that is with one massive attack, one attack focused through all those layers of rock into the vulnerable core. And that is not even presuming that we don't have an issue like The Core movie were the rotation of the outer core, inner core, and mantle are disrupted killing the planets magnetic field and allowing the planet to bake in the light of their sun as their atmosphere is blasted off by solar rays.

A little about earthquakes. The biggest earthquake ever was in Chile, and it was a 9.4ish on the richter scale. It caused over 15,000 deaths and billions in damage. However, the biggest possible earthquake is estimated to be around 9.8 on the richter scale. Why it there a limit to how big, you ask? Well, let me tell you. Think about trying to snap aa stick with your hands. You are applying stress and more specifically, putting energy into that stick. And when it snaps, the stick releases that energy. However, there is a maximum amount of energy the stick can withstand before breaking. Same with the rock within the earth, there can only be a buildup of so much energy before the rock gives away. The maximum amount of energy is calculated to create around a 9.7 earthquake when released. This means there is no natural quake possible of killing all life. But large quakes can destroy life in large areas, if the quake hits in the right (bad) spot. For example, a 9.5 earthquake occuring in the US in Yellowstone Park, the location of one of the six known super volcanos, could cause a MASSIVE volcanic eruption and make a large portion of North America uninhabitable. But how big would it have to be to end the world? Researchers estimate that an earthquake bigger than 11 on the richter scale has a major potential to wipe out life on earth, which will likely never happen. But you never know. I just hope I am not alive to find out.

It's the energy that earthquakes create that you control with the gura gura no mi: you generate the effect, not the causes. This is why Jinbei was able to hit Luffy despite his rubber body, and this is how Jinbei in Impel Down managed to bend / push and disfigure Jailer guards without even touching them. I know I'm 4 years late to this but I just dug up some info on earthquakes. The earthquake that hit Chile in 1960 "only" had a magnitude of 9.5. A magnitude 10 earthquake is theoretically possible but it has never happened in recorded history because the chances of that happening are astronomically low and even if it did happen it would be a "once in 10 000 years" type of deal. There's also a theoretical magnitude 11 earthquake but the chances of that happening is pretty much impossible. If an earthquake that huge was to hit it would be powerful enough to literally split the entire planet in half. A magnitude 12 earthquake is not possible. Even if every single fault, trench and tectonic plate were to move at once it still wouldn't be powerful enough to cause an earthquake that big.

First off, that couldn't have been Gear Second. Watch Tekking's video about that if you don't understand how it works, but Gear Second *cannot* be used by anyone but Luffy, due to his rubber body (one that WB does not have). Second, WB's hands weren't pink due to the counter powers of BB, rather, he only turned pink and steamy after that initial little tussle was over, right when he was about to kill BB. Id wager that the only reason he was pink was because of some sort of visual cue by the animators. I'm pretty sure that scene and his pink steam was only meant to highlight how especially terrifying WB is from BB's POV. The point of Whitebeard starting those tsunamis at the beginning of Marineford was a declaration of war and also he knew that it would incur a reaction of Aokiji and after that water froze, his crew would have solid ground to stand upon. Remember, Whitebeard might not have been as great as Sengoku when it came to strategy but he was no slouch.

Unrelated, but I have a theory about Blackbeard. What if he's like Doppio/Diavolo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? Wherein, he has multiple personalities in his body that are so potent they manifest as their own souls? This would explain why Blackbeard can possess muyltiple devil fruits (having 1 fruit per soul inside his body) and why he acts almost out of character in some situations (like when fighting Magellan), as he is switching between his personalities. He most likely is aware of this, and decided to get the Yami Yami No Mi to be able to take fruits from other people like Whitebeard.

Unrelated tangent: While watching your video on the Gura Gura fruit, I thought back to your video on what if Nami had a devil fruit, and I had a thought. In all of One Piece, the devil fruit power that best compliments Nami's skills and personality is the Mirror Mirror fruit. With it Nami could pull off even greater heists. She could disguise herself to gain entry, make duplicates of what she wants to steal to cover up the theft until her getaway, use the mirror power to hasten her getaway or stash her loot, or even set up complicated mirror formations to perform her mirage technique without the Climatact. A mirage created by summoned mirrors is bound to be more reliable than one created by generated mist.
