@@WhiteboardMedicine I used it to study for a presentation of polyps and endometrial hyperplasia here in my med school in Brazil, thank you! If you'd let me add something, I'd say the image at 8:55 is actually a sonohysterography, which is basically a TVUS + saline injection in the virtual cavity of the uterus to better visualize structures.
I just had biopsy done from polyps in uterus. I am doing HRT now, but I was told that since the estrogen caused this I could no longer continue with HRT. I have felt so much better since starting HRT about 14 years ago. I am now 81 so I was told I no longer need HRT but I am seeing reports that women using HRT have less brain problems and heart conditions. So I am looking for answers or opinions on this. Thanks!

Hi, it's common for doctors to be concerned when women are on HRT. I recommend speaking with a menopause specialist to explore this further and make an informed decision. It’s not unusual for women to develop polyps, and that doesn’t automatically mean you need to stop HRT, especially if you've experienced benefits from it. I’m on HRT myself, and before making any changes, I plan to seek plenty of advice.

why Iron deficiency aneamia and not any other type of anemia?
@WhiteboardMedicine6 ай бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video and for asking. Typically iron deficiency anemia can occur when people have the slow loss of blood over weeks and weeks as the body starts to use up the iron stores to make new red blood cells. This then leads to an iron deficiency anemia. It’s not a hard and fast rule, but oftentimes people with slow bleeding over a prolonged period of time end up with iron deficiency anemia if that makes sense!

I had a D&C & Colposcopy on May 20 & 27. I had a thickened endometrium, a polyp, a fibroid & a ovarian cyst that comes & goes. My OBGYN removed the polyp when she did the D&C. I am in perimenopause & haven't had a period since Nov. I am having bleeding today for the first time and it is very painful. Is this normal? The pain is terrible!!!
