Hey Andrew, would be nice to get your suggestion between 26.5 " vs. 27" scale length for drop a with a 6 string baritone. I'm quite new to these scale length / tuning range and can't figure what would be my best choice between string tension due to scale length over string gauge. thanks.
@AgainstTheeWickedlyMusic2 жыл бұрын
If you're playing a baritone, you more than likely want the longer scale. In Drop A, there won't be too much of a difference in string tension, however you'll definitely get better clarity from the 27". Also, if you decide you want to tune it lower, the longer scale will hold up to that better. It is some personal preference, too, because I have a 26.5" 7 string and it has a more death/doom tone to it, since there's a little more mud when tuned down, which I actually like. If you wanna djent though, go 27"
