Don't have a pond, don't plan to have a pond -- but this was INTERESTING and I watched the entire thing! hahaha Seriously, grew up on a farm and had several algae-filled ponds that looked like this, remember dad and grandpa having the extension agent come over with advice a few times but they never cleaned up like this! Congrats, and enjoy that water :-)

My last house had a pond with a stone covered bridge over a part of it in the backyard surrounded by willow trees. It was beautiful. We would find old fashioned keys in the pond all the time. I don’t know why they were there but it was neat to find them! The pond was the reason we purchased the home. There was an outdoor fireplace and in the winter friends would come over to ice skate and warm themselves by the fire with hot cocoa. Your video made me miss that!!!
@dianeschenkelberg82704 жыл бұрын
When I saw you walking around the pond in a skirt and flip-flops, I thought you must be having an unusually warm November! It wasn't until the end when you were bundled up and stating you started the project in September that it made more sense. The pond cleaned up very nicely! I don't have one myself, but there's one up the road that could sure benefit from a clean-up.

Mary, I just have a small fish pond, the dirty green water drives me crazy! So to make a long story short, I just used 4 water hyacinth and within a few weeks my water was clear! The pond is beautiful! I’m assuming since you mentioned ‘The Notebook’, that you read all of Nicholas Sparks’ books. My daughter fell in love with his books with his fist. Since his new books come out in the fall, I would always give her the newest title for Christmas and after she finished it she would pass it to me. After she married and moved several hundred miles away, I knew it would be quite awhile before I would see her to get the book-so I read the book before I gift wrapped it for her! So, the first Christmas I did this, on Christmas morning she opened it up she, as always was very happy-and I told her it was a very good read and she need not worry getting it back to me. I took some ribbing about giving a ‘used’ book as a gift. They were still living far away the following Christmas so I,again, read the book before gifting it to her. So, after she opened it up my son-in-law asked, “How was it?” Big laugh from the family- so now, quite a few books and years later , it’s expected of me to read the book before Christmas! I think they’d all be disappointed if I didn’t read it first! Gotta end this-there’s a new book hidden away in my closet that I need to read! 😉. Take care-God bless!

Didn't even have to squint to see Allie and Noah (or the real ducks) SPOT ON. (Let's hope the production CO doesn't see the exact resemblance and hit you up for royalties. 🤣) Truly admire your integrity about sponsorships. With your followers, it must be difficult to turn down all the requests you get. Well done, but know...you deserve to receive all the good you have coming for the content you provide. I can only speak for myself, but I would not turn away if you decide to take on more. And yes, I have three ponds. One looks very similar to yours. We decided to cut the trees back so no direct shade through the day, cut the banks back so mowing was possible, and then deepened it. The excavator came up to the edge and dug 25 deep down...then broke the wall and it leveled and doubled in size. The water quality improved. And so does the health of the fish. To enable the fish to treat themselves...a depth of cold water is necessary. Without a deep cold option, it has been said not to consume the fish. So...all that said, I will be contacting the Pond Guy for advice and will let them know I come by way of The White Cottage, of Allie and Noah.
