Whiteface Mountain veterans memorial highway ascends to the summit of Whiteface Mountain from the village of Wilmington. The road is 8 miles long, has an average grade of 8%, and offers spectacular panoramic views of the Adirondack High Peak Region along its entire length.
Upon opening in 1935, the road was dedicated to New York State Veterans of World War I. In 1985, the road was rededicated to honor all NY Veterans from all wars.

Hi. Great Ride. I have a question, To go up, we can take tunnel right. No need to climb stairs. We can go back in tunnel only or we have to take stairs. Please advise.

For going up and down you can take elevator. Also if you want you can climb too!
