Nearest point was correct, but does not have to be behind the bunker. Draw a circle, center the stick, radius your ball. Take the closest point to your ball which is outside of the bunker (add your stance) and that circle, thats the point where you have to drop within one club length. You can not decide to drop anywhere else. But it could easely also have been at the side of the bunker towards the tee.

For GUR you are allowed to take a free drop, you don't have to unless the local rule states you must. If you do, it is nearest point of relief no closer to the hole. Drop within 1 club length.

At the bunker at the second green. You are not required to take relief from GUR. You may take free relief from nearest point... but it’s not required. I would have played from the bunker. Thought you would have too Liam.

Bunker on second hole: nearest point of release. If the bunker is out of play, it’s a free drop. If the bunker is in play, count one extra for taking unplayable drop and 1 extra for dropping outside the bunker.

That bunker that was GUR. I reckon your nearest point of relief the first time was pretty much where you played from. The second time you should have dropped it to your left of the bunker and you would have had a far easier chip shot.
