Here in Europe we closed down our dirty coal fired power plants and replaced by renewables to lead the road for elimination of fossile fuel for urgent response to the climate crisis. However then Putin stopped sending gas over and we could not use the renewables for stabile supply of power so we had to wait to go into the climate response and we had to start up with coal again. however our banks have stopped financing coal mines.

Firstly: there is no climate crisis. Secondly: the EU shot itself in the foot by closing coal. Putin has NOTHING to do with the EU’s energy problems; problems you’ve had long before Russia invaded Ukraine. Face it: ‘renewables’ are an objective FAILURE.

Australian Coal is to fine for domestic use in Europe.Burns to fast like paper. Doesn't keep warm for long time So you have to use to much and pay to much.

Interesting that the sustainability page of WH Coal does not address the question of climate change. Seems to be something of an omission. I get it that 700 people might be employed here but I also note the autonomous/robotic coal trucks.

Maybe a CO2 tax like in Europe
@cozcamedia32502 жыл бұрын
Get fucked, we were the first country to have a carbon tax. It's a scam
@TypicalTonk Жыл бұрын
Yeah and how’s that working out? Why would you put a tax on a gas that is ESSENTIAL to life on Earth?

Would you prefer other nations to use lower quality, higher emissions Indonesian coal? Australian mines have a great rehabilitation record. Look at what competitor New Hope has achieved near its New Acland, Qld lease.

Okay. Turn off your a/c and stop using gas powered cars.

@@jcstang8952 To be fair, Petroleum based vehicles and systems have a far lower carbon footprint than coal. Thus, Gas, and petroleum have a say. When Public transport, social housing and urban planning are addressed, then petroleum based vehicles do not hinder the fight against climate change.
