This by far the best sounding White Haven in a few years. Craigmont has been just running over them, but not this year. OMG Whitehaven great job. Now with that said I look forward to the spring cause right now Craigmont they on yall tails. It’s definitely clear that Craigmont is the better band at the current moment. Every-time white haven did something good Craigmont just did better. Those are the battles worth watching. Great job both bands.

The Haven has been the standard for a long time. What craigmont has been doing has been admirable and creating more competition because our old rivals are No more...its hard replacing a Mr. Newsom but the Haven making strides. Trust and believe when you step to the Haven in band, football, basketball, track, whatever it is. You better come correct 🤘🏿😎 Respect the Haven!!!

Real talk it’s my team to do what I see fit. There wouldn’t be no dancer with out my work and love for all the kids. Them young girls got all they life to dance in front of a camera. Right now I do what’s best for the band. Not an individual girl.

Craigmont with a dub. The arrangements are incomparable. Great battle and good job both bands. That “never can say goodbye” the haven played 😳 🤦🏽‍♂️ baritone part needs to be rearranged or reworked. Not sure why the arranger has the baritones so high and loud at 46:38. Maybe it’s just a preference but it took away from the arrangement imo.

@ 😂 wouldn’t you like to know. Just know that band you saw is an award winning sweepstakes band. You probably don’t know what that is if all you are accustomed to is gym battles. lol but I appreciate the attempted research. It’s odd how people ignore the compliment you give them and focus on the critique. 🤦🏽‍♂️ I stated that both bands did a good job. The haven is and has always been amongst the top bands in the city. Most songs they played in the battle were solid. But that particular song stood out compared to the rest as far as not sounding cohesive. This is critique. no hate at all.

@@wealrknow.roddy09so I went back and listened again like you suggested. Over all it would have been a solid arrangement imo except for what the baritones are doing starting specifically at 46:38. Do you agree with how/what the baritones are executing (counter melody line with ledger line concert Aflats)? It took away from the arrangement to me.

No Grambling was first like Soulja boy.lol.. Booker T Washington in Fall 1991 marched homecoming 6 minutes into 1st quarter Grambling Blew at the Them while they marched once they got seated BTW tubas Played the intro Lenny Williams Girl I love the crowd when stupid crazy. Gram played gSU rocks the house while some came over and told don't play or leave . If you ask how is that possible back then Gram had a high band battle and invite high school from all over Louisiana to their homecoming The event was after the game. In the 90's Gram played TXSU for homecoming every year and TXsU band didn' travel to Gram for homecoming.. BTW HAD bus issues that Morning and did arrive at Grambling until after the game started and were allowed to march down the hill to their seats during the game during the first quarter. Keep in mind BTW is the school DR Gregg came from before he became to the band director at SU.so the SU STYLE was what BTW was know for the school colors are Maroon and Gold similar to TXSU so when BTW came in with all the tubas and with over 150 members marching in a 4 man front dow. The hill TXSU whole got up and went crazy. Gram start blow at them once BTW once they got seated the fans start yelling play play play the band director Mr Waters gave in and let the the tubas blow the into to Lenny Williams and the crowd went crazy and sang in unison Gram played GSU Rocks that House Tubas fanfare to win the crowd back but at that point it was over . One the band director came over and ask the BTW DONT PLAY ANYMORE after the game BRW was blocked from participating in the event and has never invited back to Gram again after that. You know how black react when Lenny Williams song into come on. Image that during a game what could anyone play back after that? All years later Gram still don't know..lol..

They not the first high school to refer to themselves as university. I think it’s an admirable way to build a high academic culture/mindset in a band program and school. If the goal is for his students to go to execute on a collegiate level as well as earn college scholarships then it only makes sense. I don’t see it as “doing too much” like some. Maybe other high schools are not doing enough😂🤷🏽‍♂️.
