I hope this reaches you! ♥ We have an Emu "Jerry", we only have the one and we've had him for 10 years. We want to get more emu's but we know we can't until we get a bigger place. Emu's need space to get a way from each other or they fight. The males especially need space to get a way from the female other wise they get stressed. The females are the ones that are more dominant in emu's so I hope you make the enclosure much bigger soon with all those emu's, poor bamboo would get picked on other wise.

First and foremost, Congratulations on 1M. Wahooooo. And next, all of your kids are so beautiful and fun and well-mannered. I watch another channel, Lester, that has Ostrich. Lester rescued a male (Carl) who was being seriously harmed by another male and farmer had no way to quarantine them apart. Then he rescued a female ostrich from a huge ostrich business. That female had gotten frost bite on one of her knees when she had gone wading in the pond in the winter and she was going to be put down because that Ostrich was not a pet, but part of a large business operation. That farmer kept them with 3 females to 1 male ratio and did not seem to have problems. So Lester bought 2 more females for a total of 3 females to 1 male ratio. During the breeding season, the male is very dangerous and aggressive to everyone. To other animals, to humans, and accidentally to the 3 females. Lester had to do all his own researcfh and basically do the trial and error method and was attacked several times, but fortunately was not injured more than some bruising. Out of breeding season they are very friendly, and curious and not dangerous and they dance and run all over. They are beautiful. However, the breeding season is nothing but big trouble. Lester had to quarantine the females from each other as they were attacking each other and pulling out huge amounts of each others feathers. Also the male, Carl, would do lots and lots of chasing of the females as part of the breeding ritual. The one with the injured knee got more injured and was in the mood but could not handle all that running and turning and switching back. One of the females he actually paid for was too young and was just terrorized by the male and got the name horrifying neck injury that your Bamboo had. But he managed to get a breeding pair out of the mix. Debbie and Carl were successfully mated and she laid 10 eggs and Carl brooded them. He was very protective of the eggs, but they had to enter the enclosure to put some good food and water as close to him as possible as he was not eating or drinking and just withered down to skin and bones. Lester life partner, Jami, was even weeping on camera as Carl was so scrawny and weak. But just like a chicken, as soon as the eggs hatched, he ate and drank and was back to his usual healthy self in about 2 weeks or even a little less. They had 3 successful hatchings. In Texas. Everyone was shocked that this worked. Charlie, Pat, and Susie. 2 males and 1 female chicks and they were the cutest, but one year later they are almost at their full size. Pat (or Tat because as a baby he would run to his father over every single event of any kind on the sanctuary so his name at first was Tattle-tail.) But it has morphed into Pat over time. It looks like he will be larger than his own father and he is the leader of the baby ostrich and curious and a trouble maker. They have had various issues, usually leg problems and there is no help anywhere. He calls zoos, vets, avian vets, large ostrich farms, and on and on. The farmers just put them down if there are any issues and there is not vet that helps. The one person who helped him the most is a guy that hosts "Think Like a Horse" on youtube. I find that guy really offensive and obnoxious but I guess he is very knowledgeable and I admit that he is the only person who has been able to help Lester the most. He stressed the importance of body language and to be ever mindful of what the animal is telling you with the body. And even copied Lesters videos featuring the ostrich and he did a series showing the animals body language. And with all large animals it is paramount to learn to read them as they are so able to cause damage and it is human error, not animal error. So I do agree with Mr. Obnoxious on that. But mostly, Lester has had to learn everything all on his own. Sorry for this over-long post which I did not proofread. Forgive all my typos. Basically, I am just saying to be prepared for problems and do not be hard on yourself if there are problems. Hopefully not. Thanks so much for your videos.

Please please please give them a bigger enclosure. I know you have loads on your to do list and this might not seem like a priority but it is! Here in Germany where I live you wouldn’t even be allowed by law to keep emus in that size of enclosure. Even if it might meet the minimum requirements for the US you want them to thrive not only to survive do you? They would be so much happier in a much larger space. They deserve an entire field like the cows. Please please please I am begging you consider this …

I just saw that you made this 11 months ago. I don’t know how I missed this because I watched every single one of your videos for so I thought. That means that these issues are already been resolved in terms of breeding and eggs, hatching, etc.. So now I’m gonna have to go back through your videos to see what else I’ve missed regarding the emus because I check every day for your KZbin channel searching to see if you have a new post up because you’re my number one KZbin channel that’s the truth. I love what are you doing on your channel is I love the animals you have but mostly I love your children and how are you teach them and talk to them and even the type of sponsors you have, because I’m a cancer patient & I eat many of the food and special drinks that you talk about but I’m still doing all of it from scratch. On days that I come home after having an infusion twice a week it would be really nice to have some of the specialty foods that are not frozen arrive at my door ready to eat so I don’t have to cook on those days when my strength is really at a, lower rate than it normally is. What an ordeal you went through, just to get the male emus to your home… it was nice that your middle son could go with you on this trip, and so often that you’re older son, that does a lot of things with you. Also, the night that you’re welcomed in your million KZbin viewers on your channel & everyone was wearing hats and blowing whistles, so the youngest son had a really cute hat that was a combination of green and orange! I love the hat, but I also looked how cute he looked. I remember having those kind of horns when I was little and I would blow in blow and mine just never seem to work but the truth was it was my lungs that did not work. One of my parents would always switch with me, but that one didn’t work either and eventually my dad would take me aside somewhere away from all of my other siblings, and try to show me the blow in a different way so the horn would work because I had asthma very bad when I was young. He was so kind to me just like you are to your children both of your parents are. That’s one of the reasons why I watch your channel for the kindness. You show your children and your animals❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ When you were loading up the emus, I was so worried about that lady getting hurt. But she seem to know what she was doing and how to handle them. I think it was hard for her to get rid of her emus. I didn’t quite catch why they were leaving, but everybody has their own personal reasons for every decision they make. You’re very kind of you guys to assist them with that move of the emus. Good luck in getting eggs to hatch. It will be exciting if you’re able to get new emu babies.

This is a MERRY CHRISTMAS video. Yes, it's a nice Christmas present to have 1x10 to the 6th (aka one million) subscribers. The end party was fun to watch; TY for inviting us to watch. I was such a pleasure to go on the Colorado trip. I comprehend why the lady has to have compassionate new emu owners. I feel badly she has to give up her healthy pets but there are only so many hours in a day and one cannot spend them chasing down exploratory emus. I think she is a nice person from this brief introduction to her. Yes this should help your bird farm and hopefully the other farmer(s). I'm glad you could make the trade (whatever details were worked out) with her. You have to separate your adult females. That fighting looks like it can get serious fast. I am looking forward to the next emu video. Happy Holidays and hope all stay safe & healthy.
