Fun thing about Quinlin Vos is they mention he's still alive during the time of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Would love to have a Dark Disciple-like side story happen one day.

This book made me move Asajj and Quinlan up my list of favorite star wars characters. The character development alone in this was insane. The end of Asajj's character broke me. She was so interesting to read about!!

Matt Michnovetz, who wrote The Citadel Arc, The Umbara Arc, co-wrote The Bad Batch arc & story-edits that series, was also the other writer involved in the Dark Disciple arc with Katie & Dave

Dark Disciple would have been brillant as a Clone Wars arc. Even as a book it really shows how the Jedi had totally lost their way because of the war.

Katie Lucas also wrote the Fives Arc on Season 6. The best Arcs in Clone Wars in my opinion came from her.

This is by far my favorite clone wars arc of any. Like this should have been an arc in season 7 or should be a story in tales of the Jedi.

Read this book last year and loved it. I must have read somewhere that Ventress died because I felt like I already knew when that happened. But the double twist with Quinlan is so compelling. I hope they do more with his character.

I highly recommend Vos's stories in the old Dark Horse comics. IMO, the best of that entire run -- because of which, "Dark Disciple" was a must for me. To date, one of the best Star Wars stories ever in any form. A shame Disney canceled TCW and we never got to see it.

I know it's considered Legends, but I definitely recommend Wild Space, and the two Gambit novels. They take place in the Clone Wars and focus on Anakin and Obi-Wan (and supporting characters). Wild Space is even lowkey referenced in one of the early TCW arcs within the animation because Obi-Wan has some serious dark eye circles (spoilers: there's a sith planet involved!). They're Legends but I still feel like they could easily be considered canon.

Read this novel years ago when it originally came out and i love it. When looking at all of the production codes for the unproduced episodes of The Clone Wars it seems like the first part of this arc, Dark Disciple, would have been part of season 7 and the second part, Saving Vos, was part of season 8, while the Son of Dathomir arc would have taken place after the first part in season 7, mainly because of some of the connections with Darth Maul's Shadow Collective and the state it was at this point in time after his capture.

Re. the timeline of The Clone Wars, I distinctly remember George Lucas saying AOTC took place 25 years before the original- if we take that literally we've got 6 years instead of 3.

I made the mistake of listening to the audiobook of this during a 12hr shift & blubbed like a baby when Ventress dies. Got some weird looks that day. 😂 A fantastic book that I'd recommend to any SW fan.

I know people keep asking for this to get animated, but I honestly think they’ve already got the story perfect with the book. It actually gives you more than the clone wars could. The introspection of the pov characters would never make it into the show because that’s just not what the show format does. The animated show isn’t always the pinnacle. Sometimes a book should just be left as a book.

This one felt like fan fiction, and the ending of the book felt bloated, but since Quinlan Vos is one of my favorite Jedi I really enjoyed this, this also made me really dislike the Jedi Council, mostly Mace but I think it helps me to side with Anakin more in ROTS in the long run .
