I'm actually very surprised, out of the hundreds of reactions of this ive watched, I didnt expect yours to be that "blank". There was almost no reactions at all throughout. This is such a freakin insane work, balancing right in between live action and animation, to know that it came from fans, of THIS quality, is truely insane. It always feels like he's offended that fans have their own take on Star Wars. Like in his mind the fan made thing threatens the original. Go watch their reaction to 'Always'. Eric prefaced it a bunch by saying stuff like "well sometimes fans think they can do a better edit but usually they're just editing exercises so let's see how this plays out", and then when it was basically just one big hype trailer instead of a re-edit his tone shifted. Idk but it would be cool if he dropped the whole "nOt My StAr WaRs attitude". Nothing original about that. Stuff like this is more interesting and a lot more work has been put in, but its not original either, its just marrying up some Clone Wars stuff with Ep 3.

in lego star wars the skywalker saga the voice actors for Anikan, obi wan and padme were all from the clone wars tv I think that they added in some extra lines, one i recognized was "it doesn't have end like this Anikan, The empire with thrive under my rule but you won't be alive to see it" those lines from anikan and obi were in the level where they fought and when they were clashing sabers the charectors said it

Will forever hard disagree with that take from you two After TCW movie, the lightsaber duels improved DRASTICALLY, I'd say! I greatly enjoy TCW lightsaber duels, I thought they had incredible weight in them in their own right, both physically and emotionally. They also flowed more "realistically" to the Star Wars universe, if you really think about it, knowing just how agile and powerful the Jedi were, with their mystic, space wizard abilities and such. Animation truly showcases all that and more, unlike the various limitations of live action.

Not entirely true. Like their credits display, the music is also custom-composed and mixed by their own team as well. They created and blended a lot of their own and Williams' music into this while still preserving that true and pure Star Wars feel to it! :)

That's not true. Only S7 of TCW utilized those more flowy and curved lightsaber effects with even thinner blades, much like Rebels, which makes sense since there's been a lot of time since TCW last aired, so they wanted to make some more updates to have the final episodes look more in line with their newer animated stuff in Rebels. But from S6 and earlier, TCW's lightsabers were indeed more in line with the live action looks of the sabers and I love it so much more, as a result. The Rebels look of lightsabers just doesn't work, neither in Rebels nor S7 of TCW. The live action, animated representation of that is The Way.

They're allowed to critique it the way they want to, they also shat on the actual live action fight choreography but no one seems be crying about them doing that. All in all, they said multiple times that they enjoyed the video, and thought it looked amazing but there's still a ton of comments literally crying about their reaction to it, it's just very strange and weird to do that.

IMO Eric need to get out of his own head when it comes to star wars. Everyone, I mean everyone has a preconceived bias for what they watched and love during their childhood and what they watch as adults. Even though he said some highly good things about this animation you could tell by less than a minute in he was going to be critical of a lot of things in a video that was made by people who don't have 200,000 subs yet and worked their asses off for 4 years and no big studio money behind them. You had some positive things to say but it seemed to me that you had more negative things to say than good and you kinda was throwing a bone to them by the end. I know that a lot of youtubers need to come across as experts when discussing films but when it comes to things that are fan made I wish people would appreciate that more than if they were critiquing a big studio project. Even the lightsaber fight you guys did wasn't 100% perfect but you got people praising it for what you did in a parking lot not nitpicking it for what it didn't due compared to a studio or what fans had in their heads for what they saw as children.

Watching this makes me wish we could get a new Clone Wars video game, in the art style of the series. Make it third-person, action adventure/action rpg with multiple playable characters that take place on different planets/locations. Kinda similar to how the jedi and their clone squads were scattered around the system. Give us Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Rex, and some of the other Clones. Maybe even Clone Force 99 (but I'd be happy with a full Bad Batch game of thier own). Please & thank you for your consideration. Note: I'm fully aware that's most likely far too many playable characters without making each different character feel like they didn't get as much to explore with. But hey, it's just a dream. Can't a man dream?!

Your concept reminds me strongly of the game “Republic Heroes” that I had for the PS2 back in the day. The graphics definitely did not age well, and the gameplay is for very young gamers, but it was a Clone Wars game with the same art style, different planets, TONS of different characters, with playable Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Rex, Cody, Mace, Plo, and lots of other characters.

Don't quite fully understand this fetish for everything live action. Sure, Star Wars started out as live action. Doesn't mean it should stay that way or that any medium that's NOT live action automatically "sucks" or is "inferior" to real life. I love that we have and can enjoy all these different mediums nowadays! Animation is beautiful in it's own right and possesses it's own strengths and weaknesses, just like live action. For example: Unlike live action, animation is more "true" to Star Wars, from a certain POV. You can do and achieve so, soo much more with it and get a lot more movement and versatility and agility out of it all than you could ever dream of mining out of any live action set or budget whatsoever. These Jedi are all-powerful space wizards...let's SEE that. The Clone Wars, '03 Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Rebels, etc, HELP us in SEEING that!! :DD

I remember coming up with this theory myself, before I knew it was a thing. Vader takes his first breath (in the mask) when Padme takes her last breath. We know Palpatine was never going to let his apprentice have a wife and children. He wanted a completely loyal servant. Imagine if Vader needed time off to spend time with family. Do you think Palpatine didn't plan for that? He knew Anakin and Padme were married, and he knew Anakin was having visions of Padme dying - and even used this to turn him to the dark side. He promised to save Anakin's wife from dying, which he was obviously never going to actually do. So he had to make sure she did die. Palpatine also smirks when he tells Vader "it seems in your anger, you killed her". This is when Palpatine knew Anakin had nothing left to live for, except the purpose he gave to him. But at this time, Padme was still alive. Sidious doesn't take gambles like that. He's always prepared. Vader even said "she was alive. I felt it", casting doubt onto Padme's death. Palpatine was obviously the apprentice of Darth Plagueis. He taught his apprentice everything he knew. This means Palpatine knew all along how to manipulate the midichlorians and create life. He could also use this power to transfer the life-force from one person to another. Of course he wasn't going to let Vader die, any more than he was going to let Padme live. And medical droids are trained in biology, science, technology. Of course they can't detect the force, which is why they were losing her for "reasons they can't understand". It all makes WAY too much sense not to be true. This is more than just a theory to me, because it's good writing and actually makes more sense than the alternative, where everything worked out for Palpatine by chance.

I find it strange how a lot of commenters here seem upset with Eric's thoughts and critiques here. There is a fundamental difference between this and criticizing official projects. This is literally a recreation of an already existing scene. OF COURSE it's going to be compared to the original, that's AT LEAST half the point. Eric and Aaron also discusses the video in a explorative format, discussing how it was made in a respectful manner. They were also clearly impressed and congratulated the people that worked on it! It's also worth mentioning that quite a bit of their criticism was targeted to the original live-action fight as well, rather then this adaption. All this can be compared to how some people "criticize" the sequels among other projects. Hating on it to unnecessary degrees, harassing actors, etc. Eric has also criticized things in newer projects plenty of times, but does so in a respectful manner. For some reason now some of you somehow forget that and claim that he "refuses to criticize anything official" and only criticizes fan films, which is definitely not true.

A lot of his negative points are to do with the source material and the differing qualities between them not perfectly translating, despite the animation itself doing a really good job of trying to bridge the two together.

I watched the discussion afterwards, and honestly for me, these sort of conversations dont need to be had over a fan film, like "translating" and comparing animation to live action, its fan made. Not canon. For me its almost the same as comparing the lego star wars version of the story to the film, you cant so you shouldnt

The one thing they missed at adding, was just before Anakin screams "I HATE YOU" in the OG Script, he says "Help me Obi-Wan" Obiwan replies with "No" Prompting Anakin to scream "I HATE YOU"

For a fan created thing it was absolutely amazing. However for people mad at Eric for his critiques, that’s how these fans grow and learn. It’s a disservice to the creators to hold back critiques. It wasn’t perfect, there was a lot that could have been better, and I’m confident the next project will be that much better because of it.

Totally agreed. Eric holding this to a high standard is, itself, a compliment, because he's considering it _worthy_ of a high standard. He even said he can apply this same view to any of the films. I like that he has this perspective, because it's a lot more informative. I think some people are too accustomed to reactions with just generic praise.

There definntly giggling at Wanting to do a Revenge of the Sith in the Style of Clone Wars. Hell the fanbass has been yelling for it. We've got bits and peices of Scenes here and there in clonewars season 7 and That other series. The fanbase wouldn't mind it. I think they want to make it too. They just need to get the OK from DIsney. Which probably won't happen but still.
