Awesome that you guys finally uploaded this pretty historical moment. Rondel is going to be in the goat discussion eventually.

I know nothing at all about lifting, but did they seriously say he gets just 5,000 bucks for what is clearly a very special achievement? That seems like a really tiny prize, especially for American standards.
@Isaiah_McIntosh7 ай бұрын
It is tiny. Powrrlifting is now in a major transition moment where money is just coming in in a serious way but thats mainly in europe or on the world level in the IPF federation. Its a big part of why rondel is coming over tk the ipf. If hed done this performance at sheffield hed have made minimum 6 times this.

Why these type of people don't compete in ipf( world level championship). Even though they can take medal easily, if we look at his numbers. Are they natty😂
@Isaiah_McIntosh10 ай бұрын
Rondel has talked about it a couple times. Trinidad and tobago had a political squabble between the former and current regime for powerlifting. The IPF gave the country an indefinite suspension until it was resolved. During that time Rondel competed in 1 USAPL meet since he was stuck unable to compete for several years at that point and was turning into basically a gym lifter. Then the IPF lifts the ban but it now means he'd have to face at least a 12 month ban because he competed in a competitor federation. Luckily for us though, Rondel just announced he's coming to the IPF and he'll take the ban no matter how long it is.
@tonygrigri247510 ай бұрын
@@Isaiah_McIntoshso you think rondel is natty? Why lifters from usapl are much more stronger than in ipf? Why atwood became stronger when he competed at usapl?
@Isaiah_McIntosh10 ай бұрын
@@tonygrigri2475 honestly........I don't know or care. Just pass the drug tests which he's done same as everyone else. People lose strength coming to IPF because of judging standards, much quicker flight times, for the US folk travel fatigue, much less time between weigh in and competing etc. The IPF is the hardest league in the world for all the reasons out together not just the drug testing standard, which isn't that huge a deal clearly when you have IPF lifters outtotalling their untested counterparts.
@tonygrigri247510 ай бұрын
@@Isaiah_McIntosh but what is the beef between IPF and USAPL if the drug test from USAPL is good?
@Isaiah_McIntosh10 ай бұрын
@@tonygrigri2475 wanting to be the official federation of the sport. Mate it's about branding and money. Individuals might give a shit about things like drug testing but it's about money to federations. Things like the ipf having the sbd sponsor or ipf not allowing the use of certain other sponsors by athletes. It's always about money 🤣. Just like the local trinidad federation getting split up for all those years.
