There's an extra element of cleverness in these lyrics. Not only are they spot on, they're echoing the original in a way that can't be easy. It's not like a typical ABAB verse, chorus, type song, it's _very_ specific and "bard-like" if you get my drift. On top of that, the vocalist is almost exactly the same as the original! Yes, it really is unbelievably well done, and today of all days, it brought tears to my eyes. I'm an American living in Austria right now, and at 68 after living through Vietnam, Kent State, Watergate, and all the assassinations, I've never been more worried about America. It's stunning that the GOP sold their souls so easily to a conman and a grifter, and even more stunning that millions of Americans have fallen under the spell of this lifelong cheater and liar. It is so scary that America, watcher of democratic elections and fighters for democracy, sits in this precarious position. I hope we make it through this mess and the people assisting this criminal in his past attempts to steal an election who currently still sit in office are charged and convicted along with him for what they have done with their fake electors and treasonous schemes to Americans. This song embodies what they've done more than all others and musically and lyrically is really so precise that it's hard to call it a parody. Thanks so much guys for the work you've done to help us deal with this insane situation we've found ourselves in.
