Oh, how hearing this beautiful song takes me back to the little country Baptist church I grew up in. This was one of the songs we sang during the invitation at the end of each service. For those of you not of that faith tradition, the invitation is the time of the service when those in attendance are invited to come to the altar. To make a decision for Christ, or just to pray or ask the pastor to pray for them. I have many warm memories of occasions when the Holy Spirit would come over that tiny church while this song was being sung and the Lord dealt with people's hearts. Thank you for posting this.

Whiter Than Snow LYRICS 1. Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole; I want Thee forever to live in my soul, Break down every idol, cast out every foe; Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow, Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 2. Lord Jesus, look down from Thy throne in the skies, And help me to make a complete sacrifice; I give up myself, and whatever I know, Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. 3. Lord Jesus, for this I most humbly entreat, I wait, blessed Lord, at Thy crucified feet; By faith, for my cleansing I see Thy blood flow, Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. [Refrain] Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow, Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.

It really is annoying, that Fountainview Academy has stopped the subtitles option on all new videos. Great old hymn sung beautifully though. But, you know, as the Bible do, it really flies right against the SDA teaching, that we are commanded to keep the law: We only ever can be washed white in His blood and righteousness and all men on Earth fall short of the glory of God! Even Apostle Paul confessed in his epistles, that his flesh led him to sin daily! You are better Christians than Apostle Paul? 1 Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole; I want Thee forever to live in my soul, Break down every idol, cast out every foe; Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Refrain: Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow, Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 2 Lord Jesus, look down from Thy throne in the skies, And help me to make a complete sacrifice; I give up myself, and whatever I know, Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. [Refrain] 3 Lord Jesus, for this I most humbly entreat, I wait, blessed Lord, at Thy crucified feet; By faith, for my cleansing I see Thy blood flow, Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. [Refrain] 4 Lord Jesus, Thou seeest I patiently wait, Come now, and within me a new heart create; To those who have sought Thee, Thou never saidst "No," Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. [Refrain] James Nicholson (1828-1876)

The gospel of good news was not to be interpreted as allowing men to live in continued rebellion against God by transgressing His just and holy law. Why cannot those who claim to understand the Scriptures, see that God's requirement under grace is just the same He made in Eden,-perfect obedience to His law. In the Judgment, God will ask those who profess to be Christians, Why did you claim to believe in my Son, and continue to transgress My law? Who required this at your hands-to trample upon My rules of righteousness? “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” The gospel of the New Testament is not the Old Testament standard lowered to meet the sinner and save him in his sins. God requires of all His subjects obedience, entire obedience to all His commandments. He demands now as ever perfect righteousness as the only title to heaven. Christ is our hope and our refuge. His righteousness only is imputed to the obedient. Let us accept it through faith, that the Father shall find in us no sin. But those who have trampled on the holy law will have no right to claim that righteousness. Oh that we might view the immensity of the plan of salvation as obedient children to all God's requirements, believing that we have peace with God through Jesus Christ, our atoning sacrifice!
@israelamuzu4757 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever more. We must rather turn from our wicked ways. Grace does not grants us the permission to sin, but to rather encourage us to grow to be more like Jesus. Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;" though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Jesus Christ affirms in Matthew 5:48 that ..."Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. God have mercy upon us, for we to draw more closer to thee.
@1corinthians15.1-4kjv Жыл бұрын
@@israelamuzu4757 Am I talking about freedom to sin anywhere? Do Apostle Paul talk about freedom to sin anywhere in his epistles? No! You are however claiming, that you can live a sin free life and obey the law, which only proves one thing to me: You either have not read the Bible at all or, even worse, do not understand, what you are reading at all! Try to read this one: “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:16 KJV You are not being obedient to Jesus Christ by denying His send Apostle and the gospel for our dispensation either: Apostle Paul received the gospel for the gentile nations on the road to Damascus and you can not be saved after any other gospel in this dispensation. We are the body of Christ saved under grace for our faith alone, no works required. Jesus Christ even only had condemning words for such people as you, that even being in His earthly ministry preaching for the lost house of Israel and Judah, which were under the law and we are not: “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:32 KJV But you can rely on your own self-righteousness, for all I care. Just as the Pharisees and Sadducees did!

@@edwardpardy7866 Really. That is outright comical and only proves two things to me: That you are not based in scriptures in your beliefs at all and that you do not know, what the sin of the Pharisees were. I have a clue for you: Their sin were the same as all legalists sin today, including most SDA members, that they hold their manmade traditions over God's laws, and even did so with a self-righteous, self-serving and evil heart!
