For those not around in the '80s when this song was first released, you should hunt down the original version. Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody were the heart of this band, and the later 'hair band' incarnation that David Coverdale came up with wasn't a pimple on that band's arse. Good video very helpful thanks. I think I have a small correction on one chord. The end of the verse where he sings "And I'm gonna hold on for the rest of my days". Instead of G D Em, that D is actually the same chord Angus Young uses in AC/DC's "Highway To Hell". 6th string = 2nd fret. 5th & 4th strings = open. 3rd string = 2nd fret. When you listen to the original, it's a walk-down. The bass is doing G (and I'm gonna) Gb (hold on for the) E (rest of my days).
